Where do I look for places in Andheri East?

I'm moving out of my house for the first time to Mumbai. My office is in Andheri East, JB Nagar exactly. What areas can I target for accomodation? Also are PGs better or a 2BHK? Maybe getting a PG for the time being and getting a 2BHK with friends later? I did find a really good sea facing apartment in Versova near Versova Metro which directly connects to JB Nagar, should I pursue it? Not sure if it would get mad crowdy.

JB Nagar is hands down the best option for you. Look for a few days and you will certainly find good options. You won’t get the party vibe living in here, but you can always travel for that. Flats/PGs will be on an expensive side in Andheri east compared to Versova, but the time and effort saved on travel would make up for it. Again, if you need a whole lot of party and young people vibe, head towards west, D.N nagar, Versova..

No, I'm not looking to party currently. is it better to get a PG or a 1RK/BHK in Andheri E? Seems like the PGs don't even have food facility, that's a shock for me.

Try to find folks on Flat and Flatmates groups on Facebook. If you are lucky enough, you might save on brokerage. It’s better to get a flat as you can employ a cook, for PGs only option is to look for good tiffin services which is a rarity here.

Don’t live in west; it’s for people in film Industry. Most business and IT hubs are in east. Andheri east is a decent place to live; take a place close to office. On weekends you can reach BKC, Powai and Bandra west in 30 mins.

It’s also close to airport (10-15 mins max) during peak hours. You’ll find good apartments in Chakala and JB Nagar at affordable rates. Walk to office and have peace of mind every morning :)

Metro gets crowded during peak hours, but it is still a good option. If you want to save some money, look at ghatkopar
