Wipro employee goes all in on INFY calls, turns ₹78L into ₹2.6Cr and then gets caught 🤡📉📈

tldr: Infosys bags a fat Vanguard deal, a Wipro exec hears about it early, goes full degen with 750CE-900CE calls, turns ₹78 lakh into ₹2.6 crore, and SEBI gives him a ₹30 lakh slap on the face and impounds all gains.

This is peak Indian securities regulation. This guy's risk-reward was literally 10:1. SEBI essentially told him:

"Congrats, you cheated the system. Now keep your ₹2.3 crore, but give us ₹30 lakh for appearances."

Here's what happened:

  1. July 8, 2020
  • Our boy Keyur gets off a long chad-level call with Ramit.
  • Vanguard deal is gonna be public in 6 days.
  • Minutes after the call, he loads up on call options.
  1. July 8-10
  • He starts small and sneaky. ₹2.15L, then ₹4.48L, then ₹9.18L.
  • Keeps volume low, doesn’t want to trigger algos yet.
  • Builds positions methodically.
  1. July 13-14
  • Goes full ape mode: ₹24.66L in a day, then ₹37.45L next day.
  • Biggest bets on 840-850CE (ATM/OTM mid-range strikes).
  • Total premium spent: ₹77.94L.
  1. Post-July 14
  • Infosys deal announced, IV explodes.
  • Puts in sell orders. Profits booked: ₹2.6 Cr.
  • ROI: 234%. Absolute gigachad trading.

Now check out his strat: Strike Selection:

  • 750CE-900CE spread, 15 different strikes.
  • Highest size in 840CE-850CE (optimal gamma, IV spike zone).
  • Less weight in deep OTM (900CE, too risky).

Premium Scaling:

  • Starts high with ITM (750-780CE, ₹40+ premiums).
  • Degen mode in OTM (850CE: ₹6.60, 900CE: ₹2.86).
  • Why? Cheap leverage. Can go all-in.

Profit Mechanics:

  • 840CE made the most: ₹47.5L in profit.
  • 800CE wasn’t far behind: ₹42.2L.
  • Even far OTM 880CE printed ₹24.5L.

This guy literally made money out of thin air by playing the IV expansion and theta decay perfectly.

Here's how SEBI figured this mf:

The Entry Timing

  • Minutes after a specific phone call.
  • Why does a Wipro guy suddenly YOLO ₹78L on INFY?

The Positioning

  • Who the f* accumulates 3.5L+ call contracts in 5 days?**
  • Retail never trades like this. Even mutual funds don't.

The Risk Profile

  • This wasn’t a hedge. It was a pure directional all-in bet.
  • A normal trader would NEVER size this big on a single expiry.

Here's what SEBI did, absolute clown behaviour 🤡

  • ₹2.6 Cr in gains impounded. ₹30L penalty.
  • Regulatory equivalent of a mosquito bite.
  • Not even a lifetime ban. LMAO.
  • SEC in the US would have jailed him. SEBI just asked for pocket change.

Here's how you can rig the system too:

Options = Best Insider Trading Vehicle

  • Low capital, insane leverage.
  • Harder to track if split across strikes.
  • SEBI too dumb to catch IV spikes early.

Regulations in India are a Meme

  • A US hedge fund would’ve sniffed this out.
  • In India, you just need an "oops sorry" fine.

Never Use Equities for Insider Trading

  • Direct equities = visible bulk trades, easy to flag.
  • Options hide volume, use leverage, and avoid margin issues.

Here's the ultimate reality:

  • The system is broken. SEBI is asleep.
  • If you have inside info, options are the cheat code to make easy money.
  • Worst case? You pay a "sorry" fine and keep the rest.
  • Markets are not about fundamentals, just knowing the right phone call.

Would I do this? No, because I don’t want to end up in Tihar Jail.
Would a smart degenerate do this? Only if they know how to not get caught.

If you read this and still think markets are fair, you are the exit liquidity.

So, all his gains were impounded and he had to pay additional 30 lakh as penalty. Cool

I'm not able to reconcile how you start with

"Congrats, you cheated the system. Now keep your 2.3 crore, but give us 30 lakh for appearances."

..but then later on in the post you say SEBI impounded all his gains. Just curious, what actually happened?
