YouTube Ads are getting worse

These ads are annoying the f out of me. I’m getting these 2 min long unskippable ads for as short as a 2 min video. I mean why the hell would I watch a 2 min ad just to watch an equally long video? And it got worse today, I clicked on a 3 min long news video, I got a really annoying 2 min long unskippable ad, I decided to somehow go through with it and then boom, another 2 min long unskippable ad. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK YOUTUBE?

Invest in paid ad blocker(cheaper than YT premium) both at DNS level and at software level. Openai will suggest all the methods.

When seeing longer video do it private mode or have temp id where you can watch these. I keep the history off and use it from a different browser. The trick is to make it difficult to YouTube know about you. Make their ads ineffective on you.

Tv - use screenshare instead of official tv app
If you use iPhone, you can pay for yt premium

This and if you have TV with LG webos then sideload adfree youtube. You can use JTSpotify instead of spotify.

On my laptop I use uBlock Origin + SponsorBlock. Blocks all the ads in YouTube including embedded sponsors. When I watch on TV, the moment the ad starts, I quickly mute from the remote, look at the duration, then close my eyes and I start counting. They are my "reduce eye strain" reminders.

Also, DO NOT USE any Chrome/Chromium based browsers. The move to MV3 has killed a lot of functionality needed by ad blockers. Only browser out there which didn't mandate MV3 for extensions is Firefox. So use Firefox, else no ad blocker will work 100% for you.

Showing 3 ads every 10 mins to users who have paid for subscriptions is silly and stupid. They are running out of ideas and happy to see Hotstar content moving to JioCinemas. Put an end to this nonsense
