Zepto vs CRED store
What Zepto is doing (under 10 mins delivery)is what CRED store should have been doing from the beginning. Open dark store in all the top affluent neighbourhoods and provide affordable premium products of all categories under 10 mins.
Example
- premium ice cream vs Amul
- Premium Japanese office stationery vs local Amazon brands
Ops heavy yes but such a perfect brand market fit!

I like your question but kinda laughed too.
Cred is already loss making, imagine taking in added cost of lakhs of dark stores. The VCs would require funding thereafter 😆

Indranagar ka Gunda doesn't give a f to local chomus

Generally stuff like premium japanese stationery is bought in person. You don't know what premium thing you'll like unlike commodity products.
Plus unlike US where zip codes determine a lot of stuff like local taxes, schools and all so you have actual concentrated wealthy areas in India it's distributed.
Koramangala is affluent yes but also has lots of PGs, and what not.

Why do you think that?
And who really buys premium items in a whim? Part of that premiumness is going into the store, getting pampered and go through the products and buy what you want.
I don't think CRED wanted to be in Quick commerce, they arent selling anything particular that people need in 10 mins per se. And CRED store is more popular for the new brands as I can see, to come and feature their products and mostly people don't scroll beyond the top listing of the day. And they don't manage the inventory I think, since all the communication I have gotten for the products is directly from the brands(shipped differently from brand warehouses)

They have run out of creative ads juice. Valuation will drop.

Opening dark stores is the fastest way to burn money. (See my company name). Opening dark stores for niche items might be even worse.
