D.E. Shaw

Any idea about how is D.E. Shaw for a fresher. In terms of WLB, work culture, Salary, Hikes and overall. I am an average person, will I be able to survive there. Looking at recent layoffs in other companies, I am really worried about how companies treat employees, laying them off if they don't perform well. Or even without that. Are there any layoffs happening?
