Received a job offer in Mumbai in Investment Banking

Confused about taking a job offer in Mumbai, currently being offered 14lakhs fixed + 2 variable + some deals bonus. Currently being offered 12.8 lakhs fixed in Bangalore. They are also not offering any relocation bonus. Financially it doesn't really make much sense, but I am thinking if it will offer me better opportunities in future. I am not from a Tier A college. I have received the offer after 3 months of active job search.

Referral: M&A Advisory/Consulting at Bain (and likes) or Investment Banking Roles

Hi all, I’m currently working at an IB firm and looking for a switch from my current job. I’m planning to apply for an M&A Advisory/Consulting role at Bain and Co. (or MB) or continue in the Investment Banking domain but at a better firm than my current one!

Internal Audit to Investment Banking

Hey guys, I thought of shifting from Internal Audit to Investment Banking, currently am working in Deloitte in Internal Audit Domain as Senior Risk Analyst. Reasons for Change in Carrer Path 1. Am seeing life of my seniors who are in the highest position, they have traveling all the time there is no way of personal time for those floks 2. Am aslo a recently qualified CMA and I don't think the future is bright for CMA's in Internal Audit. 3. Mostly importantly what am getting in this job is very less salary 4. Even now am very far fron Family and only god knows about my future if am still in Internal Audit. 5. Main problem is I have seen people (Client's employees) who are CA qualified with experience in Internal Audit are spending their most of the time in Vouching. Why I want to go to IB? 1. Pay is way more greater 2. No need to do all the repeated work 3. No particular certification / Profesional degree is compulsory 4. No need to travel more. This are my reasons could you guys please help out with your opinions. It would be so helpful.

Switching from Investment Banking to Consulting

Hi everyone, I am currently working as an IB analyst (front end) in a boutique shop. Our core focus is equity and debt funding in the startup space (seed to series b usually). Its been an year since I have joined and I am looking to switch. Joining a mid market or a bigger boutique shop makes more sense by the book and I have some connections for the same but I have been really interested in management consultancy and want to give it a shot before MBA. The thing is, I graduated from a tier 2 private college and most of the consultancy firms I know of give a huge importance to pedigree and prefer hiring from tier-1 institutes. Does it make sense for me to try getting in through referrals or is it smarter to aim for this post MBA. And to begin with, do I even stand a chance to get into some good consultancy firm?

Investment Banking (M&A) or Client Services Associate

Got two offers, one is from Guidepoint for the role of CSA which is basically acting as a mediator and reaching out to industry experts to solve problems which we get. This one's at Guidepoint and the CTC offered is 9.5 Fixed and the location is Bombay and it's hybrid. Other one is from Genpact for IB Analyst (M&A) and the role is the usual making pitchdecks, valuation reports for the different deals we would be working on. The CTC offered is 7.7 but the location is Gurgaon. Genpact is 5 days WFO. I want to work in Investment Banking only, also preparing for CAT on the side bc BBs only hire from top B schools. Really confused between staying at home and doing something much relaxed so that I can study but also jeopardize my career trajectory or should I take the plunge and go for Genpact?
