0 to 1 course for aspiring entrepreneurs

So I just exited my first venture, raised some money from pedigree foreign players, almost died 3 times and finally exited decently. Discounting 2 years of covid it was a good 4 year journey. I am thinking to create like a 0 to 1 course having everything from idea validation, basics of branding, how to file TDS and GST yourself, getting first clients and scaling to 1.

What does the junta think of it? And what would be a good price one would be willing to pay?

Great!!! another founder who couldn't make it big so decides to sell courses on how to make it big. You remind me of Annoying Warikoo. P.S if anyone wants to learn all this. You can visit startup India website COMPLETELY FREE, a complete course on startup, and you can also see successful founders like from Ola and snapdeal. They also teach you basics like how to read balance sheet and all. So best course on startup is on Startup India. So OP, what was your startup anyway? How much you raised, were you a founder or joined later as CTO or CFO (or relevant position), your equity? Share your LinkedIn profile, and crunchbase profile to your startup. One of my classmates bought similar course and got scammed, nothing but simple information which you can read on blog.

Since you are a student I can understand the "josh", one lesson for you, always operate from a position of humility and respect especially when you dont know what the other person intends. There are scammers everywhere but to denigrate someone like this and assume them as a scammer shows a very shallow mindset. I hate warikoo too and the content on startup India and all is very high level.

Keeping your rant aside, Ola and Snapdeal founders and many others talk very high level stuff. There are many decisions that one has to take which can make or break stuff, and not knowing certain things can lead to big trouble later on. Just yesterday I met an acquaintance who signed an agreement to give advisor equity shares for free, now that is not possible in India at all. CA ans CS will take money and do the agreement as they want business and he just assumed it to be possible. Now he is in a fix. There are many things like this which come only from experience, many practical things like pricing strategy, how to reply to play store if they take your listing down. Yeh sab cheeze kahi nahi milti, hence the same.

Also, I made it big ;) mujhe paiso ki zarurat nahi but free ki cheez ki respect nahi hoti kahi bhi. 2k-5k is the cost of respecting my time and the costs associated with running an enterprise, nothing else.

I attended this one guy ka 99 rupees class to see what he is teaching, forgot his name, he came on Beerbiceps. Its crap! And yet people are enrolling because they need knowledge.

Anyways atb to you in your future, next time thoda hosh se kaam lena Josh se nahi. :)

"Paiso ki zarurat nahi hai mujhe"
Bro you seriously need money. Your profile says 1x exit and raised <$1mn 😂 attitude toh jaise OpenAI ke founder ka aa gaya tere me. Upar se fintech hai so I think it's definitely gambling or some loan, gold jar app. If you really want to teach someone why don't you make a course on developing prototype faster, since you mentioned play store, I guess you have app development exp. Most founders waste too much time on developing prototype (tech startups). We seriously need a good flutter course, I can't find any on internet. Or if you work Java still that would be great as you can teach on how to develop apps faster without wasting too much time as development with Java becomes too complex sometimes and developers always want to add that extra feature which over engineers the product.

And thing you listed, "helping to form a pricing strategy" and "reply to play store for taking down listing" and biggest of them all "free ki koi respect nahi karta" is all bullshit from X indie hackers space (they also say same things like you, I assume you are already inspired by them). There are many guys on X (twitter) doing this scam, examples Brett (search for brett designjoy) , Justin Welsh (this guy is exactly your plan and future, and reason for my rant his business is a course on teaching people on how to start a business, he also has another business where the course is to teach people how to start a course which teaches people on how to start a course). And you want to teach people how to avoid scammy CAs and CSs !!!?? Isn't that founder instinct? Why spoonfeeding? Also I said to follow startup India course. Not Ola and snapdeal s**t founders. Even I don't care who teaches me. The thing is about the quality of that course. Make the course I told you above and I will pay you Rs.5000 and also refer everyone in my ecell and hostel. They will definitely buy it too. We're looking for this for a long time.

Need your help, I have been thinking to start but salary is the drug one get addicted to, how do one go all in, I don't really care much about money need it to the point that it can cover basic things

You don't go all in. You start small with MVP and go all in when you see significant traction (at least few lakhs in revenue and ideally some profit).

Looks interesting, imagine yourself back to 4 years when you were starting something like this, and if someone has to offer similar kind of course how much were you willing to pay?.
People out there once graduated don't really invest much in learning so I would say somewhere 1K-3K for the complete course

SquishyPancake

I would pay around 5k. I saw one offered by VC circle or Times or something for 4.5 lakhs. 🤣

5K is decent and if someone is serious they will pay for it

Congrats on the exit :)

Problem is there's too many content creators and idiots with far more reach and money selling their own courses that don't actually help at all.

I've been looking to mentor some students as well but like you said, free gyaan doesn't have value and yet people want things to be as cheap as possible if not for free.

Let me know if you find a good platform or solution though, I could chip in as a mentor/teacher maybe. Bootstrapped founder here.

I think it's a good idea, you can start with a topmate link in your LinkedIn or Twitter profile and start offering 1:1 mentorship(price range 500-1500) as it would be more personalized
