How to switch to sde role

I have been working at a financial company for last 8 months (my first job out of college). I don't like the work and contemplating switching to SDE roles. Does it make sense to switch to SDE? Also is career growth and compensation generally higher for SDEs?

Hey everyone, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Have any of you successfully aced an interview solely through tutorials, YouTube, or side projects without hands-on work experience? I am a SDET exploring a transition to SDE role, internally tried within my company ,not happening due to various reasons, hence trying to switch over. In order to achieve that, I've worked on full-stack sidd projects, practiced DSA, and made a good "tailored" CV that gets me interview calls. But I am currently facing mixed experiences in interviews. I am able to answer a few but struggle with some questions and seek advice on how to improve. Any suggestions for this career switch are greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton

I am a technical support engineer with less than two years of experience in the industry. I am working in tier 2 support where it's not much of telecommunication but is fairly technical, tool based though and I feel the urge to switch to an SDE role as i feel my knowledge base is getting restricted to a mere tool than the technology around. How should I approach the companies and switch the domains?

I am and sde. Earning less as I have to have wfh. 15-20lpa, currently in lead with about 6+ yoe. Plus some on the side. I am interested in data science. I have been studying. But how do I make the switch. Will my sde exp be counted? Which companies to approach. Should I do projects? Please help.

Currently I have 1.5 yoe as a data scientist with CTC of 6 lpa. Thinking of transitioning to Data Analyst or SDE but can't figure out. I have graduated in Mechanical Engineering, so I don't have the pedigree to become a good SDE. What you all think?

So, I got placed on-campus as an analyst and it's about to be a year since. While I don't hate the work I do and have excellent work life balance (unsure if i require it tbh 😅), I feel I can better showcase and hone my skills in a software development role, given that I have a degree in computer science and simply, enjoy coding (I've automated nearly every task I have been given as an analyst at my current job.) I'm looking to join a fast-paced environment by the 2nd half of this year. Please let me know of open roles at your orgs looking for recent graduates. 🌟

I want to switch my role to a Data Engineering job as my current role is not having enough job opportunities outside. I am planning to learn tools on Data Engineering. Like the Data Frameworks: Airflow,SSIS,Azure Factory And Dataworks like Snowflake,Databricks,Postgres I need some guidance on which tool to start learning and if I plan to learn these tools for the next 6 months. Is it possible to crack the interviews....this is my 1st switch to a new company. Can anyone pls suggest which framework, Dataworks tool i need to start and has high possibility for getting switch to new company. If possible can you pls share the learning path 🙏🙏🙏. Data analyst (1.5 yoe) working mostly in query developments and power bi here. Can't hope for further growth in my current company (too much hierarchy). Currently brushing up python skills to boost up my resume. Any suggestion from experienced folks is highly appreciated.

Hi All, I have 6 YOE. Initial 2.5 years I worked as Backend developer in Python, Django, AWS and Little bit JS. After that all of my experience is in Data Engineering mostly in GCP (have few certifications as well.) Currently I am working at Walmart. Most of the work I do in Data side is adhoc and projects are also not upto the expectations lot of manual work is also there. I am not really enjoying my career as data engineer. Pay is good. I am thinking to move back to Software Engineering, 1. is it a good idea for long term? 2. What skill should I focus on if I have to move back? 3. Is it just the projects that I am working on making data engineer look less interesting to work ?
