Looking to plan a week long trip to some northeast states with family  ( parents and sibling ). I need some input from people here, ideally who have already been there.

-  must visit states and places
-  rough estimate of budget per person excluding flight 
-  stay recommendations in these places (3 star hotels or airbnbs)
- any package tour providers that you recommend 
- things to avoid or be aware of
