Chief of Staff
I would like to say that Indian firms have made a joke out of critical titles such as Chief of Staff! 🤷♂️ In big tech; CoS is an extremely critical & cutthroat leadership role, equivalent to a Sr. Director but here anyone can be CoS at 4-5 yoe. 😅 Recently a similar folks applied for the role of L8 & recruiter pointed out that he is CoS & graduated in 2018. What do you think?
Always been a joke
4-5 yrs? I see rando CoS intern openings and people with ~2yrs with CoS title.
You are not a chief of staff you are a glorified executive assistant

Quite true
CoS has become extremely random. It's obv a generalist role, but it's become something that isn't really transferrable, changes completely from one startup to the other
One CoS would just be handling investor requests, while the other would purely be managing schedules and project tracking for the CEO. People need to manage this better.
Then title them as executive assistants or Support Staff Specialist.
But not CoS!

Chief of staff is the literal equivalent of a Chanakya.. but in Indian startups its become as good as "highly paid intern" who can do whatever the CEO needs

Someone 2 years my junior from school (aged 25) is “Chief of Staff” at a startup. All he’s done recently is make LinkedIn posts about hiring “x” position - something the HR executive from my company does daily. I also see him comment “glad to have you onboard” when someone joins I guess.
All in all, I don’t really believe he has any qualifications to be “chief” of anything YET. But yeah, the position is a joke at the moment.
bhai ye CoS hamesha se joke hi tha
India me "Bada babu " ka inflated name hai CoS
and inko toh file bhi nahi pahuchana hota , mail krne me 3 din lga dete hain
