How can you pitch to VC circuits or Angel investors if you're new in town?

Hi, I am looking for opportunities to break in VC firms as investment analyst or scout.

I have some money to invest and knowledge about startups and funding. Is it enough for me to be a VC or I've to join some VC firm or take a course?

When I was in 12th and gave my exams for JEE Mains I got - Physics : 1 Chemistry : 2 Maths : -3 Basically:0 but it was intentional. I got 99% on my 12th and 10th board. Qualified for NERIST Entrance Exam. Got everything but wanted to prove a point, “One piece of paper won’t decide my future.” Guess I was wrong. Now no investors wants to invest in my ideas because they look for pedigree. My friends got into IIT Bombay, Delhi and Kharagpur. But unfortunately for them they couldn’t get a job???? My friend who got into IITK got the highest marks in our state batch of 2018. Now his doing coaching. My IITB friend didn’t get an interview nor placement. Lastly my IITD friend is back at studying for MTech. Don’t understand what is happening. I can build but investors don’t invest. They can work but got no job.

Currently at mid-mvp stage fintech startup looking for pre-seed funding to resume their progress. Does this qualify the requirements to achieve a pre-seed funding ? I bootstrapped the startup myself at the beginning and we have not yet reached the stage where we can present a MVP for investors which is a huge setback we are currently facing. I tried to apply to few Indian based pre-seed ventures but all I got was just rejection mails not sure why. Prepared a pitch deck and a company structure profile although all our employees are remote. I just don't know who or how to approach an angel investor or a ventures firm so lacking expertise in this field. Suggestions would be appreciated ☺️

Go ahead, ask if we pushed founders to commit fraud.

Acquiring funding for a startup in india has become a hassle. I myself have been doing research on seed funding Vc's and angel investors. All they ask is pitch deck and LinkedIn profile. Which they don't even go through and just reply with an email saying we are not eligible for funding. On the other side US and other countries are getting funding at the ideation stage. I guess we can't even go for crowdfunding. Started building MVP, but halfway through the hurdle and unable to resume the development due to limited resources.

I have seen VCs usually don’t reply to cold emails and they have a clear rule before investing in any startup. Any VCs out here who can respond to this query. What’s your take over it fellow VC grapeviners ?

I have an MVP version of a startup idea. No revenue yet. Someone is keen to angel invest. How does this work? Can someone answer these questions for me? - If suppose Person X puts in 50L, how do I value my company and thereby equity? - How do I authorise and distribute shares? - Someone mentioned I should do a SAFE - can someone explain how'd that work and would that be a better option than choosing a random number - If I give 20% of company for 50L, how does that change if I raise a future round? Do I issue additional shares? Anyone who has had experience here will help
