Thinking of switching to non-tech(leadership) from tech
Hey people, I am a software engineer. I am thinking of pivoting to leadership kind of roles like EIR, founders office, product manager, etc. For people who are currently in such roles or know people in these roles, do you think people from tech(engineering) background, pivoting to this role at age of 24-25 yrs is advisable? Would people hiring for these roles see that I don't hold an MBA? What are the things about these roles I should be aware of?

Don't want to sound demotivating but IMHO don't switch to non-tech roles in such a market where layoffs are happening. I personally feel the first one to lose a job in such states are non-tech roles. You can get a leadership role in a later stage too.

high paying and not core value producing. For example software is like oxygen for business. But u don't need marketing folks. Like that

I feel like for a founder's office role you need a MBA because you need to know finance and other stuff. Plus MBA adds credibility and the shift to the role would be easier. For the PM role i don't think you need a M.B.A you just need to have good communication skills and problem solving abilities. You can try for APM roles.
I see. Do you think a PG program (not an MBA) but kind of like a diploma / bootcamp which is taught by varied people help establish credibility?

See it depends . My personal opinion on this is, Bootcamp will help you in developing the skill required for the role. But it won't give you credibility. You might get a role in an early age startup as an internship or maybe a full time offer. But you will be paid peanuts. Without prior relavent experience or an M.B.A chances of landing a good role is low. Plus if you really want to see yourself in Strategy/ Consulting role M.B.A is the best option. Very rarely it's observed people switch from tech background to strategy role.
