Hello world! After a really long and hard struggle panning over a year, I finally switched PM role at an startup. Having managed to go survive college decently and getting a decent analytics job(did APM work as well), I expected the job hunt to be a little easier than what I had to go through, and landing the offer boosted my confidence back a little. I am really excited to start this new role in the next 15 days, feeling very ambitious, and I foresee that the team is small and the role might involve a lot of responsibility and ownership and little less guidance than what I am used to. I am scared a little and my anxiety is kicking in and somehow my confidence seem to be dropping, and I really wanna be good and do good in this new firm. So, reaching out to friends, seniors and all folks of product! Your tips and lessons on the journey of first month or two, for a smoother sail.

I graduated last year with no job offer from college. And started job hunting, I had 3 internship experiences, still not getting any job. But last December 2022 i got a call from the founder of the early stage startup( bootstrapped), gave a live coding round, and got selected within a day, even in this horrible job market with 7 lpa. Now the amazing part is that the technical co-founder was working as a consultant themself for a company and paying me and 2 other peeps from his own salary and still no expectations of overtime and good flexibility, unlimited paid leave,and then after working there for 9 months, finally the founders got funding but now they decided to move to wfo from wfh(with a considerate increment to employees), with which I was not comfortable because I have to relocate (and I have a medication going on from a very specialized doctor from my city), so decided to part ways. And from the past 3 months, i am job hunting, but not even getting an equal opportunity, those 7 lpa feels like 24 lpa coming from a founder who was working a day job to give me and other that opportunity. This post is an appreciation for all those founders who are working a job or hustling and running a startup in their spare time. Best wishes to you peeps, you may succeed in all pursuits of life. P.s- The founder gave me 6 days salary also which was equal to my first internship stipend.

Going to start as a data analyst in a consulting company as a fresher on Monday, graduated this year. What are some tips you'd like give me so that I don't hate my job like most of you here...jk. Worked for ~8 months as a Product analyst at my first firm. Interviewed and recieved a Product Analyst offer from my dream company in my industry of choice and an APM offer from a startup. Took up the APM role planning of switching to the dream company as a PM at a later point of time. 2 months into the job, recieved a text from the SVP that they'd be happy to offer an APM role at the dream company. Coincidentally, current firm has paused all appraisals and there's a small chance of layoffs as well. Do I make the switch? Pros of switching: Higher Pay, Higher quality of work & Product, No risk of layoff (Since dream company is bootstrapped+ highly profitable), much better exit opportunities Come of Switching: 2 switches within a year so would have to stay for atleast 2 years irrespective of the work environment, higher work load, no wfh (currently working in a good hybrid system) If I decide to stay here longer and the SVP leaves the dream company, I'd be stranded as well. Please suggest.

I recently was offered an internship at a startup, but their tech stack is completely new to me. I am 100% willing to learn on the job and I am not afraid of picking up new technologies, do you have any tips for me (maybe an approach that will help speed up the learning and building process or anything in general).
