To all the devs (working professionals and students), how much do you rely on ChatGPT for your code? Do you explicitly use it to generate code logic, or only use it for debugging?

I know this is quite a sensitive topic but I'd rather face the truth.

A couple of months ago, I was less worried, but now looking at the pace of development in IDEs and tools to help with software development, coding has been made much much simpler. 

Do you really think AI will take away jobs?

That's not what am saying or pre assuming.

But the brain behind those supercomputers h100 and all, who is making LLMs train faster.

GPT 5.0 can do miracles and imagine 8.0 coupled with those 1nm GPUs.

I still believe that not 100% can be replaced but yes 60-70% roles will be redundant.

Top 10% will survive and thrive if ride the ai wave.

To the cynics, while this is a demo and there might be a lot more work to be done to get this product to "employee-grade", the fact that this has even started happening now... is crazy!

At this rate of progress, I wouldn't bet against a fundamental disruption to SWE as we today know it, within the next 5 years. That's food for thought for those in the profession: either you are in the top 20% or you are replaceable by AI agents like Devin.
