How important it is to upgrade technical skills for a mid level engineers with 5-8 yoe keeping in mind the AI is on rise. 3 options: 1. It’s important to include AI in your skills. 2. No, it won’t impact that much and will fade with time. 3. Better to start slowly with AI and have secondary skills.

Hi, I am a backend software engineer, experienced in Java, Postgresql, elastic search and couchbase. I want to upskill myself and learn AI but there is some resistance because I am average in maths and I heard AI is a lot of maths. My manager told me that I can't run away from this and I should learn and do specialization in AI because it is the talk of the town. Guide me on how should I start and a complete plan to learn. I feel I have potential to learn and grow.

Need your thoughts on what are my possibilities and pros cons on choosing different paths. 1. Stick to software engineer, will get promoted in some time and i can utilise some skills developed during this year and past internship. For next two paths, i will need to study as I don't know much about Ai/ML. Please suggest resources and way if you thing these could be good. 2. Switch teams in Google to some Ai/ML team. 3. Switch firm to some startup on Ai and can learn more things there. If this, then are companies out there how can will consider my this experience, i would want more pay than what i am earning as of now. Happy to read all the comments and your pov.

How long would it take to learn Ai/ML from Scratch for fresher

Can Ai take product jobs? Been planning to switch to either PRODUCT or DATA SCIENCE roles in 5/6 months, but kinda skeptical as what path I should go ahead with. Also with the AI advancing everyday and some tech bros taking about AI taking jobs makes me wanna wonder about the path I should go ahead with.Any recommendations will help, thanks. Currently am a java developer with 1.4 YOE and kinda find it boring (maybe its the project)

I am a software engineer with 11 months of experience. I have no interest in testing field and wanted to work in development roles from the start but my org forced me to work as an integration tester. Now I am planning to upskill and jump. I have great interest in cloud field and believe that it is an emerging field, but I am told that AI/Gen AI is also very good field to go in. Although l don't have any particular interest in AI and always thought that it is not easy to get good paying AI related jobs for beginners like me, I am ready to pursue, if told otherwise. Please give me some advice/guidance as to which field I should choose as a fresher that has good learning and future scope and pays good. Any advice/guidance is appreciated 🙂.
