Who and all doing business and what kind of business it is?

So we are three people (2 developers & 1 UX Designer) on our way to start a design & development agency. Right now we’re testing the waters and the official registration will take place a couple of months from now. We’re looking for a fourth person to join this endeavour, a UX Designer adept in UX Research methodologies. The four of us will be equal partners. And it’ll start as a zero capital business. Not considering any freshers for this btw. We’ll hope you guys later on.

The general advice that I have heard is to just keep learning and enter the workforce when it is normal again. But I thought for some people, this is the push that they needed to build their own startup or business. Sitting without any job that screw anybody's mind so this seems to be an option too. Funding is dried up but people with a good enough runaway can start a business together in a bootstrapped manner. Even if you return to the workforce right now, there isn't a guarantee you'll be getting your previous CTC, the previous WLB. Companies are trying to cost cut by overloading on a per employee basis and raising competitive nature between teammates themselves. If you getting this much toll, 70 hours per week in worst cases, might as well put that effort on your own venture. Building a startup is risky. But when your current job is itself risky, doesn't seem wrong to build one. But popping up of such small scale business doesn't happen much. Why?

What to do when you are not satisfied with your current salary because you feel the quality and quantity of work you do is not worth it and your supervisor is playing around and not in favour of giving any financial growth even after good performance and you are not getting any opportunity outside having around 9yrs of experience in HR Operations. You feel very low and disappointed working like this. He is taking advantage of everything, not letting you apply for internal job openings also. What to do in this case?

Last 3 years of startups have been all about SaaS. I just don't get it. So far, it was about solving real problems at scale. First with consumer websites (google etc), then software, then shopping & delivery (amazon swiggy zomato fk etc etc) And now, it's all SaaS: - Imma build a startup to help white businessmen in America do better billing - Imma build a 360 degree feedback tool specifically for Norwegian miners - Imma build a SaaS software to help HR people note down who isn't dressed properly - Imma build a software to help hillbillies in the US better manage their trucking company Like how are smart people in India taking up entrepreneurship to build these ideas that are dull and feel like the end of life? How does anybody become excited by this? is it just money? what am I missing?

I have 6 years experience. My current base/fixed is 60 LPA. (I also got a 5 lakh bonus and 5 lakh of my ESOPs vested this year making my total vested about 30 lakh. So the total comp is 70). I'm being offered a senior engineer position in an early stage startup (as part of the founding engineer team). They haven't given an offer yet. Being early stage, the emphasis will most likely be on ESOPs. How do I evaluate this and set my expectations? (If I were to switch to a mature company, I believe the hikes usually are between 15-20%? How does this work for early stage startups?)

1. Novel/new business idea 2. Degrees/MBAs 3. Experience/reputation 4. Money (hardly 20-30k to register company) 5. CTO 6. Employees/Co-founders 7. External investment 8. Website/app 9. Social media accounts 10. Office location (register home as office) Far too many people focus on needing xyz before starting up. Most of them are excuses and self-imposed roadblocks from what I've seen in my conversations with people. I'm currently working on 2 ventures that still have many items missing from this list. Doesn't really stop me from making revenue and profit. Sure, there may be some things required from this list for specific businesses and at diff stages. But they are mostly an extra, good to have but not required. What is required in copious amounts is courage and will power, willingness to face rejections and ability to withstand multiple failures only to get back up and try again. Also, a healthy enough risk appetite. I hope to see more young and talented folks (especially MBA grads) start their own thing some day. Best time is in your twenties and early thirties, when you have little to lose. Team is less than 10 people still, slowly growing. Net profit could be higher, that's top priority to work on now. Total cash invested by founders was 15L over 3-4 years. Yearly revenue : 2019 - less than 30k 20 - 1.5L (after pivot) 22 - 50L Getting to the first lakh and then to 10 lakhs was probably the most challenging part. We thought of shutting down multiple times, struggled through multiple fights between founders. Glad we didn't stop working and pulled through. This is my 4th or 5th attempt at starting up. Except for 1, other attempts didn't even get to incorporation stage. Would love to hear from other bootstrappers and their experience.
