People who took a paycut to join a company how did it go for you?
People who took a pay cut to join a new company because of the chance to grow is higher. How did it go for you? Did you get the growth you expected? Do you regret your decision?
This was a few years back. I quit my R&D job at my peak and fell for the hype. I went to a startup. The company is full of average people who are brainwashed to think they are building some Mars rover or reusable rockets. I asked my manager to work on my initiative, his answer was why? Finish the work I assigned and go home.
Don't do it unless you want an adventure. You need to be aware that any adventures can go wrong the chances are 50:50 that your move would be successful.
I jumped from well established cultured company to a start up by taking pay cut and demotion for an adventure. Here it is toxic and company not doing well. Everyday I am regretting my decision

I was satisfied with the job, but my personal life started to get affected. I had to quit. It might feel like you will enjoy it but it started to itch. Itch covered into a rash. Before it turned into gangrene, I left.
I realized I need to enjoy making money. And talks about being happy doing just the work doesn't work in real life.

did the same almost 3 years ago, to a remote offer. Saving 3x to the amount that what I would have saved if I stayed in that company., have 10x better work life balance. tbh, Better than what I expected when taking that paycut decision

Was in a similar position...at the end its same shit with different dhaniya...you do start feeling inclined towards money then.... especially in the kind of layoff scene which is happening rn, one can be more pushing towards money when companies itself have business to run
