How does work flow at your comany?
I’m curious about the working style of difterent companies operating at different levels. Do engineers ever directly talk to business or just product? Does the product give a detailed PRD covering all possible scenarios or a one pager? Are PRDs still a thing ? How long does the review cycle last? How strictly are estimates adhered to? How frequently do the requirements change during the dev cycle? Who owns the quality of outcome ?

Will start with mine
A high level idea of what’s to come is given during prior weeks product/engg call.
PRDs are still very much a thing and are shared after that call. Notion is the main tool here. Product tries to keep them exhaustive.
Some PMs are way better than this than others. PRD review phase usually lasts 1-2 days.
Most doubts are sorted out on Notion itself. Some will demand a quick call between everyone involved.
Engineering then proceeds to build and test.
If all’s well it goes to product for final QC and is finally released. Some times (more than a few in some PMs cases), more changes come up during this QC phase. They’re usually cosmetic.
Quality is owned by Engineering. There’s no QA.
