50% layoff at a Bangalore based health tech startup. Founder had no shame or guilt. Has raised funding recently but chose to fire people again. This is the third layoff in the last 1.5 years. Terrible management, declined variable pay. Severance is to paid in the next 4 months. Just trying to pivot the company into ‘AI’ without any plan whatsoever.

The company has been struggling to raise funds the last year or two. The lay offs happened on Thursday and only a shell of a company remains.
It's was also conveniently a day before the election, so less press attention.

AI is the new buzzword to get funding. Client just wants to see AI being implemented somewhere in their business so that they can write on their website something like AI driven company. If a startup suddenly starts to preach about AI, be prepared for some changes.

There had been a bloodbath at Hero Vired. Most of the Bengaluru office has been laid off. All this was done very suddenly. They are now hiring in New Delhi. Stay away from this company, its a pack of cards waiting to fall.
