Secrets of Indian Angels/VCs

Has anyone worked with this startup? Heard it's air pollution product doesn't work but it passed IIT tests. My brothers' salaries are not paid, and their founder is more interested in discipline and OKR vs. sales. He pays nepo kids and yes men high salaries apparently. Why are startups screwed up like this. Vcs have invested in.them.and it.is against their interst to.take up these issues despite such narcissistic idiotic founders getting VC importance

Opening a VC fund has become kind of a cool side hustle With all these influencers trying to dabble with Early Stage Venture Capital- there's Shikhar Dhawan with his own sports fund. Tanmay bhatt announced one on his linkedin a few months ago. Even Mini Linkedin Influencers are doing this. Then there's a ton of founders who in the name of "giving back to the community" have started opening a syndicate/or even a fund. Angel investing is different. Common you are an active CEO of a company. Go fnking build it. Grow you income not your savings. There's a long list. Dont want to pin point people. The whole Mojocare fiasco was Because the founder was using fake revenues/inventory to angel invest! What are your thoughts? I dont think they will survive more than a cycle.

Kya dikat hai bhai, udane do paisa. Tumhare thodi hai. Good firms genuinely perform well and return money. The ecosystem is not forgiving -- you don't survive very long if you don't create any big wins. It's an extremely high stress job with very little WLB. You do make money but it comes at a cost. Layoffs are sad but at least those jobs existed in the first place? They wouldn't without VC money. India's VC scene is extremely young and it'll take time before we produce a Google. Entrepreneurs are not always right, they are not always nice either; but they definitely are courageous.

As someone who works with startups (not in)and has a well paying job, I am often intrigued and keen to invest money (say a few lacs, and provide some mentorship) as a micro angel investor in early age pre series/ seed rounds, to try my hand. Not talking about becoming a LP or joining a VC/PE. (I know the pros and cos, the glamour and the ugly pieces) . While there are some fintech startups where you can invest as low as 5000/- in a startup, I believe these aren’t for me. Any guidance on how I begin. (Apart from- go out there and network with startup founders and events) ?
