Forex Cards? Should one go for them?
Hey guys, I’m going to bali next month. Need the community’s help to make a decision regarding going for a forex card or not considering that I do not want to go cqsh heavy. I looked up Niyo global and Bookmyforex Make my trip card. Does it make sense to have one for less frequqent travellers? Has anyone used them? How has the customer service been?

No need . Just take dollars. Akele ja raha ya biwi k sath?
Agree...just take dollars from here. You can then convert to Bali currency (better rate)once you go there. Also make sure to spend all the Bali currency there since it is worthless to convert it in India.

Using Fi debit card right now in Vietnam. Worked like a charm. I used to use Niyo but had multiple transaction failures even when they were active and then the whole SBM crap - don't trust the card
I've been thinking about this.
I've found my debit card work well- even with the forex fluctuations.
On a spend of 1L, you'll probably end up saving 1-2K only. Is it worth the effort of getting a new credit card?

Niyo global. Using it currently
It has some downtimes but worth it. Used it to withdraw cash too. No twice charges on multiple currencies
The new NiYO global (blue one) is shit. It doesn’t even work internationally anymore. They ask you to get a weird credit card on FD or some bullshit like that.
The old one (black one with DCB bank) is the best fotex card in the country, but they don’t issue new ones for that now unfortunately

If you have HDFC account I would suggest with HDFC regalia forex card, one of the best I think with reliable service
