Negotiating a higher salary
I'm been on the lookout for a new job and the first question recruiters ask is if I have an offer in hand and what's my expected CTC. The next time, i get asked from a recruiter if I have an offer in hand, I want to say yes. Is there a way for them to verify if there's an offer or not other than asking you to send a copy of it ?
For expected CTC just tell them you do not have any fixed number in your mind.

Recent experience negotiating salary with an HR firm a unicorn start up.
1. Never shared the Jd and kept the seniority open based on interview experience.
2. Interviews had nothing to do with the actual role.
3. Lowballed after interview to a lower band.
4. Asks for 3 months payslips without sharing the offer in the first place. When refused, said this is mandatory.
5. Then based the whole discussion on my current ctc.
6, When I put my expectations firm, I was asked for precious year appraisal letters, esop letter etc.
Felt nothing less than financial intrusion. 🙏
Just lie?
They cant/wont do shit.
Even if they do, tell them you have to take my word for it or forge it or just stop replying.
