For the monsoon season everyone should get WFH

If not leaves, then wfh should be made mandatory for all companies for women 5 days a month. Even leaves should be given atleast 5 extra in a year, for those bad days. What do you think?

Hey Fellow Grapeviners , I have created an anonymous Remote work survey to distinguish companies who offer Permanent Remote (Permanent WFH ) , Hybrid - Attendance , Compulsory office attendance companies and segregate them . Often there are some circumstances , which favour Permanent WFH , like ailing parents or young kid to look after , Also, the commute these days in most metros is painful and often tiring . This survey has some approximate 70 records from the time when it was posted on Reddit post on r/developersIndia , Please fill the survey form whenever possible . Now why everyone is talking about benefits of working from office? I saw post from Sunil Shetty on linkedin. My take is, when pandemic hit companies asked employees to WFH to keep wheel rolling. Now we know WFH can give greater control over personal and professional life(at least for me) we don’t want to go back to office. In my opinion corporate want us to work from office cause, - they can control our time, 9hrs in ofc, you are getting paid for time not skills. - they want to show who is the boss here. - Learning is key reason for WFO, bullshit, we have a lot of learning portals and traffic time can be used to learn but it is never a intention. What you guys think?

In Bangalore Covid cases has started to spike again, please wear mask everyone. Yesterday one person age 62, passed away due to Covid. A leading well known MSME book keeping and Peak XV surged backed startup, has active COVID cases in the office and they are doing nothing about it. I asked the HR and the person was clueless. The positive person themself is informing everyone to be cautious. Health of employees is a joke here. Basic courtesy of informing employees is severely missing. Also not sure what Office Admin/HR leaders plan for our safety. These people will have no impact of their health and their families. I’m expected to come to the office though my work doesn’t require to come to office. I was okay with this. But after hearing Covid cases I have started to feel panicking. Also I have isolated myself from my fam and elderly parents. In Q4 the organization said it would be transparent. This is how it is planning to do that? Our health doesn't matter? :/ Only making things public, makes them take action. Is this what I have to do every time I need them to meet basic expectations? If any other company facing this problem? How are you dealing this? Please share ideas to isolate or precautionary measures 🙏

Say your company in Bangalore wants you in office atleast 2 days per week. Does anyone commute to Bangalore every week from their hometown? For example, Instead of renting an apartment, you book an Airbnb, go to office just for those 2 days and then travel back to your hometown? And say, there are selected weeks that you can take WFH for that entire week and you don't have to travel during those days. Is anyone here in this situation?

I know this is not what majority of people like to listen, but for people coming from other cities with no friends and poor social skills, working remote or hybrid starts taking a toll on your mental health. The isolation it brings is so overwhelming. You feel trapped and frustrated, when there's no one to talk to. Sometimes, I feel the quality of life of our kind of lower than street vendors at least they have people they can talk to. I just hate the way we are wired to be social animals yet find it overly difficult to connect with people.
