Should government make it mandatory to give 2 day weekends 

I was raised abroad and I always thought there’s something called annual leaves where you take PTO for a month apart from your sick / casual leaves. However I started working in India and damn when TF do people have time to do things apart from coming to office and getting burnt out?

Recently the CHRO of my company called me into a discussion on improving WORK LIFE BALANCE. Wow. I just cannot understand. Look at this. 1. Most companies work 5 days a week. (Except retail operations). So you get 52 weeks x 2. 104 days. 2. 30 days annual leav 3. 9 days statutory holidays. 4. Operational holidays. 3. 145 days of 365 days corporate people don’t come to office. And in a hybrid format even more. It is these corporate vultures who want work life Balance. How can u balance your life if u r unable to do it in 145 days. So Narayana murthy is right - work hard like 80% of india. Who have almost no weekly off. Just saying.

Let's ask Modi ji to make this a law. Everyone should work 84 hours per week. All of us have wasted too much time in the last 10 years already.

Hi Folks, has making a 9hour workday become a standard practice in all offices? This is sucha shitty role.. why can we just finish our work n leave? Why do we have to stay n complete 9hrs as it’s some school.

How many companies still have 6 days working? I am in robotics/manufacturing in MSME, I have a 6 day Workweek, is it a general trend in manufacturing or general trend in MSME?

I've been hearing a lot about this four-day work week concept lately. A friend of mine in New Zealand just started a job at a company that's trying it out. She says she's loving the extra day off, but I wonder about the long-term effects. Has anyone here experienced a compressed work week? I'm curious how it impacts productivity and work-life balance. If your company suddenly announced they were switching to a four-day week, how do you think it would go down?

*IMPORTANT* Monday morning and nobody at office. We have no option but to force strict rules now: 1. If you arrive any later than 9:55 in office, it will be marked as half day leave. 2. Lunch breaks are supposed to be max 40 mins long. I accept basic courtesy of following this, if not, I’ll tag people on the group. 3. All leaves requests need to be emailed to me. Without any record on email, we might not be able give a record of how many leaves in each bracket are left for each individual. So don’t expect this data from us, if you don’t email.
