How long does it take

How long does it take from the 2-3 rounds of interview, HR round to get the offer letter in your hand? It's been a month since this process is going on; I got the final call, and HR told me that they are sending the offer letter to a higher recruiter for approval salary, but it's been 4-5 days, and they haven't updated me. I called for an update, and they said they would send it soon, but they haven't. This process is just increasing my anxiety; I don't know what to do, as it's my first switch. Also, since I'm an overthinker, this thing is eating me up โ˜ ๏ธ Konse mandir jaau kya khaau ...alag hi chull mach rahi hai .... Clear hogaya toh offer letter dedo or Shanti se jeevan viyateet karne do nanhi si jaan ko

Should I follow up regarding onboarding process?

Hello Developers!!! I am 22M, completed BE in computer Engineering. Upon completion of graduation (May 2023), I worked as an ML engineer (internship); fast forward to December 2023, I had interview scheduled for ML position (off-campus) at reputed company (non-IT), which I passed and after interview in December, I was told to wait for offer letter. Actually, I was referred by the employee of the company. So, till the end of January, I did not receive any update from company regarding offer letter. I asked a person who referred me, he told me that HR has been changed and due to that reason, your onboarding process might be on hold. However, In February new HR got hired and I literally left the hope to receive callback from the company, but after some time I received call from new HR, and again scheduled interview with same manager with whom I was previously interviewed. Manager was quite satisfied with me and asked me If I was ready to join as soon as possible. I assured him to join ASAP. After this interview also I was eagerly waiting for the offer letter; Again, left the hope of receiving any response. However, now it was a beginning of March, and one day I received call from HR, asking for my documents, to release the offer letter. Now it's almost mid-March and again no callback from HR, and no update regarding my joining. It's a journey of 4 months. I never wrote a follow-up mail to HR or manager regarding, onboarding process. Till now I was just asking my referee regarding any updates. It seems cumbersome to him also to ask manager repeatedly regarding my offer-letter. Should I write follow-up mail to either HR or manager. If yes, what should I mention in it? - Thank you

IBs taking forever to answer

Hi all, I have been giving interviews for several IBs in last few months and i have had a very laggy, slow experience. Namely, i have been interviewed by JPMC for about 3 profiles, Barclays for about 3 profiles, BNP Paribas and DB for about 2 profiles. I would not disclose or discuss anything about offers. What i want to highlight is all these organizations are just taking weeks to finalize and give answer. If they like you, they would have rounds of interview in 2-3 days after each interview, but then, its radio silence. Then they either internally reject you and don't give any update or keep on window shopping with other candidates and try to find cheaper options. Then they come back if they don't find anything. But something that they should change is transperancy. Say exactly what is the status of a candidate. Why you want to keep on buying time. On the contrary, i was also interviewed by EY. And they were simply the fastest and the most to the point guys. Interviews done in 2-3 days, after final interview with director, i got a call the same evening discussing salary, etc... No HR HR game and time wasting. Also, none of the IBs ever update the status on online portal and when you reach out to HR for an update, all they say is its in process, waiting for business to reply and please check status online. At times, even after months, the status stays the same. And the worst part is, after playing their time wasting game, say if your scored an offer letter from somewhere else, they will say that this wasn't disclosed or said during the discussion. They should understand that if they are wasting a month of an employee on the pretext of "waiting from business for reply", it can happen. If any other folks have faced same issue, please share. I personally have made a decision that if and when i do hiring or am part of hiring process, will try to be as transparent as possible and give answer atleast in a week's time to any candidate.
