I am a Sales Engineer who is hustling to get a job in PM, or DS.

I graduated in 2019 with an integrated BE(Chemical) + MBA and landed in a core field for minimum wages. Ever since, I have tried to get into the IT field by applying actively but wasn't able to get any role. My present role is a sales engineer with an organisation that manufactures Laboratory based equipment and it is Denmark based. I can't apply for an internal role within the company as it takes a very limited workforce yearly(1-2 employees) and that too in sales. I have been fed up with my job as it is menial and requires a lot of travelling with delaying illiterate people and pitching the solution. I have affinity for computer based jobs specially DS, or DA. I want to switch jobs to these profiles but found it hard to even land up a job due to my previous experiences that are completely non-IT based. How can I make a transition to these roles, I have heard my stories of people who have relatively lesser odds but still they pulled a hat out of nowhere. It was likely due to these strong links within those companies that helped him getting the jobs.
