Consumer(B2C) SaaS not a big opportunity?

Hey startup founders, who've been there and done that. Is ConsumerTech dead with all the giant social networks already taking a users' screen time? A recent YC video (tarpit idea) suggested that B2B SaaS is good, B2C is shit. I feel if we have to build something big in India, for the people, the threshold is really high for a social network. On the other hand, B2C SaaS is not something that people would pay for easily, making it less scalable. So, what should one go about this?

I might probably regret this especially since I’ve seen a lot of backlash on this platform for crypto. But honestly, this has been a rewarding stint. And note that I didn’t say “crypto” as I don’t always advice people to invest in crypto. AMA!

Was asking for some advice on fundraising. Got to know if you are building something with no revenue, literally impossible to raise. He explained how hard it is even for the current founders and expecting 100s of startups to fail next year with talent going cheap due to all the layoffs. Very hard to think how to monetise B2C if people don’t even link their credit or debit cards with Apple Pay and Android for in-app purchases. Also for B2B Saas, it’s better to build for US from India than building for India. Just “profit” over growth now. Nothing else matters 💭

Viners, finally I’m frustrated enough to make a move on building my own business. Just curious about what b2c SaaS would you not mind paying 100 / month for? Preferably in the capital markets / personal finance space?

Last 3 years of startups have been all about SaaS. I just don't get it. So far, it was about solving real problems at scale. First with consumer websites (google etc), then software, then shopping & delivery (amazon swiggy zomato fk etc etc) And now, it's all SaaS: - Imma build a startup to help white businessmen in America do better billing - Imma build a 360 degree feedback tool specifically for Norwegian miners - Imma build a SaaS software to help HR people note down who isn't dressed properly - Imma build a software to help hillbillies in the US better manage their trucking company Like how are smart people in India taking up entrepreneurship to build these ideas that are dull and feel like the end of life? How does anybody become excited by this? is it just money? what am I missing?

Except a couple of credit on UPI/wealth tech companies, I haven't seen any cool digital B2C companies pop up in recent times. Are new B2C ideas too risky for investors? What cool early stage consumer products (other than GV) do you use?

What are some of the great companies to work for as a starting PM post MBA in India. I think in many of companies role of PM is not properly defined and it caters to borderline project management.
