I have been working as a Visual Designer for a b2b saas agency. It's been 2 years now and I feel I have hit a plateau in my career. Can anyone help me in ways I can upskill or transition myself to more scalable job? I have 4 years of total industry experience. Also please suggest a salary range I can expect

Lean Adobe XD, figma for UI, create a Behance profile, create 8-10 portfolios. Modify your resume with chatgpt to showcase that you work on xyz project asa UI designer. For UX, as it says, you need years of training and mental model to become a researcher in the field. Research and understanding of the all businesses, different domain's knowledge be it finance, healthcare sector and it to say. Apart from this, start reading blogs on UX. You have to keep everything in your memory like how many pixels a button, inputbox and all web components should be for a mobile and a desktop. They gonna ask in the interview.

It takes 7-8 months at the least to understand all these UI parts in depth and UX at the basic level. Then also if u get in a job, you have to be confident in showcasing your skills coz u will be faking it and stuggle to deliver things on time for one year in that company as u wont be able to say that you are new to it. Happy learning!

I am currently working as an Industrial Designer at a Startup ( 14 LPA ). I have a Master’s Degree in Design from Indian Institute of Science. I am not finding jobs and am very confused about wether to continue as an Industrial Designer since I see very less demand as of now. What is my Designer Level?

Hi Grapevine, I am currently applying to Enterprise / SaaS organisations in Bengaluru and getting confused when trying to benchmark my level against different companies as they all use different employee leveling scales. This is getting to be an issue as the salary range is generally benchmarked to the level of the open position and I'm unable to reply confidently to the recruiters on my salary expectations. My most recent position was as a Senior Lead UX Designer in an IT Services company. I was leading teams of 3-5 UX and UI designers for end-to-end design engagements and my clients were large MNCs including a fortune 50 pharma giant. I was also involved in training and evaluating associate designers and expected to contribute to design proposals for potential clients. Any advice or pointers on how you figured out your own experience and employee level accurately would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance! --- YOE: 5 TC: 21.5L

What do they do exactly? Many of them are earning well. I'm referring to those who work in big MNCs or large startups. I can see many companies with little to no ui changes over the years. And there are some companies which don't require a ui designer to work everyday as their products are deployed and there are less changes over the years. This made me question what the hell they are doing. Some even start with 50+lpa with no experience, in tech companies. I would also like to mention that some of these companies which hire designers for big bucks don't even have a good ui. Are companies giving away money for them to do nothing? These are based on some people I know who work in this industry.
