This issue with non-technical VCs as they don’t understand the reasons why crypto exist. I saw 100s of VCs being scammed in rounds and even in trading OTC as they didn’t understand the tech. Many VCs even like me are still very much alive and making money

Crypto Twitter is the only legit source, but the ratio of noise to signal is pretty high, so it requires a lot of reading and independent analysis to be good at it. One more thing - investing in crypto is not buying shitcoins on centralized exchanges and hoping numbers go up, that's hopium gambling which most in crypto do anyway. It's about deploying capital on blockchain via self custodial wallets and investing in protocols in early stages of development based on one's own thesis.
