Plans to do MBA
Hey everyone. I have an experience of around 3 years a d currently with my MBA plans. I want do my MBA from Tier 1 college (atleast top 50) because I graduated from Tier 3 college. Should I try for ISB or go abroad. Should it be 1 year or 2 year? I have a lot of questions like these. Please share your suggestions. It would be helpful to many.

IIMs, FMS, TISS, XLRI, and ISB are the top institutes (do not get confused with IBS)
I would urge to do a Full Time 2 year MBA / PGDM.
Also, only think of studying abroad if you plan to settle there. Would not recommend to go there just to study and then come back.
Reply if you have any more questions....happy to help
I hear that 5 years MBA is an ideal experience. Is it really needed? I planning to get into MBA with 3 years only.

@DestinyDecider 3 is okay if you are opting for the two-year MBA. If you are looking at the one-year MBA programs from IIMs/ISB; 5-7 years is the sweet spot.

MBA from tier 1 college is definitely worth it. 3 years is good enough experience to bank on further growth. Also mostly you would end up in a completely different role, so it is a path changing decision.
It gives one time and chance to sort of rediscover themselves. Please do go for it.
Avoid tier 2 colleges. Its not worth it.
Do a 1 year MBA, 2 Y MBA makes you lose a year of earning and eventually all theories don’t even count in real business problems.
IIMA,B,C, ISB should be your top choices in India.
INSEAD, LBS, HEC, Kelloggs should be outside india
Be very clear on your motive to pursue MBA. Most of the people pursue MBA for higher pay scale, to escape the current job, to delay marriage, to get a job if they dont get after graduation, to live college life once again or have huge amount of haraam ka paisa so chlo mba kr k thoda use kia jaaye.
Life is not all hunky dory post MBA, so be very clear with your motive else you will be disappointed once you face reality.
