I'm miserable working the night shift.

I work with this company run by this middle aged Indian businessman. I get paid 1.5L a month, which is decent. I have 100% remote work. When I initially joined, he wanted me to download Timechamp or something on my personal device. Luckily, before joining, I'd confirmed I will not be subject to any sort of monitoring and after much back and forth, he settled for me messaging him everyday in the morning and when I'm clocking out in the evening. I've only been with them a few months, and I knew this before joining too, but he's very old school and works like that (literally asked me "are you looking for work life balance or are you hard working" before I joined). While the work hours haven't been super crazy (Yes, I've responded to messages and attended meetings at 10 - 11pm, but that's something I'm okay with) but the whole clocking in and out and trust issue thing I wasn't fond of. Lately, he'd given me an absurdly high designation (think President) and was constantly after me to update it on LinkedIn after asking me not to disclose my affiliation with the company publicly (possibly because I was on an unofficial probation). Lately, for a couple of tasks, he's been getting a little... Passive aggressive bordering on aggressive. Example (absurd, I know, but bhavnaye samjho): I'm hired for maintenance. He's asked me to find a janitor from Kenya. I have no connections in Kenya, I tell him so. He asks me if I can do it or if he should handle it. I tell him to give me some time, I'll get back to him. I find him 2 agencies in India who will charge us the money and it'll be their headache to make sure the Kenyan janitor comes and cleans the place. He is not happy. He wants to do it "in house" and wants me to find a Kenyan janitor directly. Again he asks me if I can do it or should he do it. I tell him the most I can do is find some options online and give him a list but I can not verify their authenticity, so if he has c (continued in comments)

Alright I’ll keep my rant short. After working insane hours for an year or so (and learning A LOT), I started exploring other jobs with better pay and work life balance. I came across model risk management (validation/governance whatever you call it) and it seemed interesting to me. I took it, and it turned out to be a big mistake. Although the pay is good, but I don’t think I’m learning even a fraction of what my previous job offered. I’ve been interviewing for the past 3 months and the extent of brain decay caused by a laid back job is getting more and more apparent. The industry expects me to have certain skills which I clearly lack now. I wish to quit my job and do something that helps me build hard skills relevant in the industry. If there is anyone who has worked in model risk management, I’d love to connect and understand their perspective.

I am currently working as a senior engineer at a startup (yoe 6+). Initially things were good , but from the last few months The workplace turned toxic and all the nasty things started happening around me. 4yoe Engineer turned Product Manager. It's been 8 months I joined this B2B SaaS startup as an APM. Engineering team... mostly interns. Most of my time goes into execution following up with devs. Is the PR reviewed, is the bug fix deployed. No Jira, scrum, sprint planning whatsoever. CEO runs the whole show. Only fear driven product management. I have no idea what it means to work on vision or strategy. My career has started off with a shitty foundation. Everyday I feel like quitting. What should I do? Quit right away or wait n switch to a better company?

Hey folks, So I work as a product intern and have an offer to join full time as an Associate Product Manager at a Fintech B2B startup upon graduating. So cutting to the chase, Recently I have been under tremendous pressure to deliver a product. Our organisation does not have any senior product manager to help guide and I report directly to the CEO. I have been given far too much responsibility and an extremely sophisticated product has been put in my care. This product requires a lot of technical expertise and we do not have that kind of resources. I have put this point across to my boss multiple times over the past few months and he always says we will do it. He goes and promises clients that this product exists they even did a soft launch of this product when we literally have not built more than a few screens. Our company has a high employee turnover and people keep quitting left right and centre due to the Co-founders toxic attitude. Recently I have been feeling very anxious starting work in the mornings. Most days go late into the nights because the Co founders work in a different time zone. So the dilemma here is this, I feel the urge to quit this job but at the same time I am afraid that another opportunity will not present itself soon. They also pay me pretty well compared to other product intern roles out there. I know a lot of people are out there fighting for a product intern or an APM role and here I have it and am considering quitting. I have worked hard to have a stellar profile (tier 2 Engineering graduate and tier 1 MBA graduate). I have 2 years of pre-MBA experience and will be completing 1 year post-MBA in a few months, at which point i plan on putting in my papers. Being in this rat race has taken it's toll. I am depressed and dread logging into work everyday. It's come to a point where every small task feels like a burden. I have decent amount of savings and I can support myself during the time off. My parents and friends don't seem very excited by this decision of mine, but they are not in my shoes and do not understand what I am feeling. Would love to hear other people's stories/opinions on this.

I will go first - I quit my last organisation (a famous UPI company) in 2020 because, they still are in old technology. No cloud computing, no kubernates, no terraform. Their entire baremetal infra are in 2 DCs (Mumbai and Bangalore). Leadership ideas are outdated. I was very much bored and looking for a change.

As asked in the title. During office timings, I am really anxious to the point that I am unable to relax during lunch breaks as I am afraid I will get a message or a call that I might have to jump into. I know it sounds stupid, but I spend nearly 10 hours everyday with crippling anxiety. It has become so bad, I am considering quitting to work on myself just to get rid of this anxiety. However the Current market scenario doesn't allow me to me do this. I have asked my friends and family about this, but everyone says 'don't quit', 'work hard' Etc. I am sick of hearing this.

Hey, I'm currently 23 years old earning a decent 12l.pa with 2.5 years of work ex I currently do not enjoy my job, constant stress anxiousness, can't work here for another day. Planned to do my MBA and preparing for CAT this year and also putting my papers down in a couple of days. Considering I have my exam on the 26th of next month, how long should I keep my notice period? I'm planning not to work at all once I resign, as the company hasn't been good to me. I can keep my notice a week, but then again I won't have a job in hand and will lose work ex. Need some valuable advise here.
