Hiring process for chief of staff
I am applying for the role of chief of staff for a startup. I already am currently swamped with work. They have shared the details regarding the hiring process. Do you guys feel that the hiring process looks very time consuming? Or is it normal for such roles?

Fixed is 40. Does that make it worth it?

A bit lengthy, could have skipped Stage 2 or Stage 3, since both are designed to see how you would approach the problem.
One extra step I see is the first one, rest seem pretty standard. (The first step is usually there for McKinsey if you apply laterally, this startup might have adopted that approach)
Stage 2 is the standard case interview round + introduction. (It can easily go into 60 mins)
Stage 3 is the assignment round, again this could have been skipped, but startups have started giving these frequently. (Free work for them)
Stage 4 is pretty standard for the culture fitment round, to satisfy CEO’s ego.
I believe the first round is designed to eliminate a lot of candidates and only focus on the ones who really want this job (and the ones they can low ball) as non-serious candidates will seldom give the first round of 3 hours.

This is ridiculous. A case study is quite common but this is unheard of.
Do share what type of case studies they give if you do take up the interviews
