Hello, so I'm planning to relocate to mumbai from bangalore for a new job. If you could share your thoughts on pros and cons of moving to mumbai, that would be great. I'm aware of the high rental cost and the monsoons, other than that anything specific to worry about. Also, which areas can i get a 1/2bhk at a decent cost.

I'll be earning 80K PM after tax and this is how I'm thinking of dividing my finances. Please give your inputs.
Fixed:
1. Rent - 18K (PG)
2. Food - 4K
3. Electricity - 3K (estimating)
4. Travel - 3k (worst scenario, home to office - Rs 100, 3 days a week - 600/week) 
5.Groceriess - 2K (Not sure because in a PG but considering it) 
6. Internet - 1K 
7. Lifestyle/Misc - 10K  (I don't party much, most of this will spent in misc and exploring Mumbai etc)
Total - 41K 

Savings - 39K/40K
1. 25K in savings bank account (i need to have this because I'm scared of emergency stuff) 
2. 5K MF
3. 5K PPF
4. 4K/5K - sending home

Just as the title says, how on earth were you able to find a decent flat/pg? I'll be moving to Andheri East next week and I have been trying hard to find affordable renting options but haven't been able to. The properties are either way too expensive, ask for way too high security deposit or just don't prefer bachelors. Brokerage is also a problem. 
What helped you all in finding a decent flat? Any leads would be helpful.

Hey all, I'll be moving to Powai, Mumbai for my full time job in August. Wanted to know any tips that you all might have for me, little worried about budgeting as might have to save some for home as I gradually aim to take the home expenses on me(I'm natively from Delhi, so my family is there). If anybody have any female friend who is looking for flatmate then I would love to share accomodation.
PS: have been looking on FB groups, getsethome.com and many other platforms too, and willing to look for accomodation around 4-5 km to adjust to budget, if anyone knows some good localities which are safe for female then your help will be appreciated.

I'm moving out of my house for the first time to Mumbai. My office is in Andheri East, JB Nagar exactly. What areas can I target for accomodation? Also are PGs better or a 2BHK? Maybe getting a PG for the time being and getting a 2BHK with friends later? 
I did find a really good sea facing apartment in Versova near Versova Metro which directly connects to JB Nagar, should I pursue it? Not sure if it would get mad crowdy.
