Advice needed

I work for company a. Company a places me in company b for work. Last month I was told I will be leaving. I made peace with at as I felt very bad. I had done the majority of the work. A day before I was told I will be working on a different mobile tech. Company a told me that company b is kicking me out. Now after a month before 3 days of leaving and after giving kt I was told by company 2 that I will be retained. They told me it is because they like my work etc. I think it is because I had told them when they asked me of the amount of work left on the app. I said it is a huge amount of work. Also the company b was a bit friendly when talking an mentioned some problem with my contract was there as well. From what I think Either comonay a asked for more money after hearing that I have been asked to work on mobile. Company b said no and I was let go. Later comonay b realized they need me so they agreed. Or company b kicked me and then realized they still needed to decided to continue. Company b has some toxic people to work for. When I ask for a raise in company a I am told maybe just 5% or even less than that. What should I do.
