They are extremely upset and there's no communication for the past 2 days and everyone around including other family members trying to convince me to go for ias  coaching . What to do ?

I am currently working at an early stage startup as a software engineer and have been working here since around couple of years full time and an internship prior to that. I am getting a decent salary and the work environment is also good.

But While I write this, I have started feeling stagnated and bored at work and feel that I am not growing in career. This is one reason that has led to me start slacking off at work and take long time to complete tasks.😓

However, I don't want this to continue and thus am here for advice. I am trying to apply to various companies but only to receive rejections. Not even getting an interview call. I am planning to prepare for MBA and the exam is in November. But since folks usually prepare for MBA alongwith job so it means I should continue my job if I want to do so which is another problem for me. I am even confused if I want to an MBA since only the product management role out of it attracts me and not the consulting/investment banking once. So I am not sure if I should even do an MBA. 😒

I discussed this with my parents and they asked me to leave job and prepare for UPSC. Honestly, I have some interest in the exam and the job is great as well no doubt but being 26 years old I am not fully sure of taking this call  since it involves a lot of risk.

All this has been causing lot of conundrum in my brain and it would be really helpful if anyone can suggest any things that I am missing out or that can be simplified.🙏

I have three younger cousins. They don't want to code. They have their clarity. They don't want to pursue any particular engineering stream as well. 

They want to get a decent paying job. Let's say 6-8 lpa start with a path to 15-20 lpa in 4-5 years. 

I tried advising them to not invest a lot of money and four years of time in engineering. Their family is average middle class financially. I told them that I'll advise you what all to learn like content writing, seo, data analytics etc. So do a simple course, save money and rather invest in something that matters for job. 

They did listen but did not get confidence to act. 
All three went for engineering stream. These are private colleges with tier 3ish names. Now they don't get time to put a lot of time because 8-4 is usually college time. Unlike tier 1,2 college where you get campus and a lot of freedom, the colleges usually have a lot of classes and compulsory 80% type attendance. 

Did you face similar situation? What did you advise? Do you think I was giving them right decision?

Your advice is misleading. You don't become a best in class data analyst if you can't code. SEO is a shady business and there isn't growth. Even a PU graduate can do content writing or SEO. Engineering is like a passport. You use the degree to make your career. The number of people earning 20L with 5 yoe with a non engg degree is pretty low. I empathize with the 8-4 struggle. I have seen such people, but they are still better off by doing engineering than anything else. There are other core engineering career options in non-software industry, but you will have to be competitive to secure a decent job even there. There are banking, insurance etc. Even these require people to be competitive. There is no free lunch. May be in European nations, but these won't last long.

Thinking of taking a break for approx 1/1.5 years from tech, and trying for UPSC / PSC. Wanted to understand how hard would it be to get back in corporate after the gap ? If someone has successfully tried and can share their experience, it would be really helpful.

Can anyone help me out with choosing course, i just finished my 12th few months back and want to pursue a career in computer/tech field because i am interested in programming computing and all that, but the thing is i dont want to do Btech mtech etc

Bsc + Msc in comp sci / Data science
Or
BCA and then MCA in an NIT thru NIMCET

These are 2 options that are in my mind, or Bsc and then MCA is another option, idk what to do further on and i am confused a lot

I was stuck in the UPSC cycle for a long time and never made it to the final list even after pushing my limits.
It has been 5 years since I graduated from Btech CSE.
 
I want to enter into the tech industry for my livelihood, it seems like a last option but my confidence is at rock bottom, not even getting any opportunity anywhere.

No matter how hard you try, how close you are to your final knock, life works as a Boolean.
0.9999 is still less than 1.


I have no answers only questions. 
Am I too stale for this industry?

Hi I'm 2nd year ECE undergrad, since the beginning I was very much clear about my goals but my parents weren't. I wanted to become an Ethical Hacker but they forced me to take up ECE,
Now I have finished half the path... But by now I have three backlogs and now I want to quit ECE, I want to study cse from first year is it a good idea to do so 
Note:I have no interest in going towards ece core and my backlogs might also increase

I am B.E. - Computer Science graduated in 2019. After that I started preparing for Upsc civil services exam. I didn't clear. So I decided to pivot to corporate sector. I upskilled myself for data analyst. I have been looking for job since last 1.5 year. But I am hardly getting any interview calls. Can't understand what am I doing wrong. Please help. A little about myself: 22, just graduated Btech CS from tier 1 college, got placed in a few tier 1 companies, baniya (relevant), and good at engineering in general ( won several actually honourable awards internationally, from government of India, some IIT random techfests, etc). Point of telling this being to get some credibility for the readers so that they don’t take me as a young dumb overconfident 20yr old. (maybe I am?)
I really want to earn money, probably in my genes, my father wants the same for me. My dad has a decent wholesale business (around 1cr per year profit) and I don’t mind moving in it as well. It’s recommended to stay sometime in corporate to learn the nitty gritties of life and other aspects. I don’t mind that either.
Personally, I want to get into entrepreneurship, but again it’s easier said that done, how to start, idea, implementation and everything else it’s just the tip of the iceberg. People of my age (some of them being close to me as well) have started their ventures and have got funding upto 500k USD and it makes me jls.
I’ll be probably joining an MNC and will stay for around 1 year and then see how it goes.
I’ll be really helpful if fellow grapeviners can shed some words of wisdom on how to go on here to a startup/business/high earning journey?

Rejected BPO offer from TCS and TechM back in 2017. Sitting for six years at home. Prepared for CAT, XAT , IIFT, SNAP, TISS, XGMT, SRCC, NMAT, CMAT. Didn't secure a good percentile. Stopped preparing for MBA entrances and started preparing for govt exams.  Still not able to clear any.  B.com grad with accounting hon. No int in CA/CS. Zero experience at anything.  Currently depressed to a point that I have no energy doing anything. Need help.

I have just graduated and started working in Bangalore at a core company(electronics related) with 20L in hand and another 20L in bonus, stocks etc.
But my parents are asking me to write Civil Services, which I like as equal as a private job, but after I gave one upsc attempt this year, then I understood that UPSC requires lot of luck too, as the most of the questions are dynamic and no one can predict them. This is also said by many UPSC toppers too.
Instead I am thinking to continue in private job and get salary hike or promotion every year by working hard or by switching to other companies which has good opportunities.
Can anyone give insights on whether I should pursue Civil Services or should I work in private firms. Please also give reasons. Thank you in advance

I'm 24 year old unemployed. I graduated in 2021 with BTech IT from tier 3 college. 
Initially I was preparing for UPSC exam but I gave up after few months and now for a year I have been learning Front End Development and have learnt HTML, CSS, JS & ReactJS but unable to find a job.
I made a lot of mistakes in past and didn't learned from them. I'm not good at anything. I apply daily at different platforms ex: wellfound (formerly angellist), hirist, hirect, instahyre, cutshort, individual mass hiring companies off campus but from nowhere I'm getting interview call even if I get call I'm not able to clear interview. 

Now the thing is my parents gave me ultimatun to get out of the house by April 1st they don't care what type of job I do. 
I don't understand what can I do now. I'm willing to do hardwork and learn from my mistakes I just need little guidance to get on a track. If anyone can guide me on how to get a job or any advice. I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading.
