 If you are able to crack interview, in most large organisations HR will like to have some basis for salary. Most likely your last drawn salary will be used as base to draft offer/ negotiate.

You can file ITR against your cash transactions and pay Income tax. Then It can be considered as proof of income. They will get an idea about your yearly income and will consider it as base to offer/negotiate.

If u r good, payslips don't matter for the gap. So chill.

Your last drawn salary slip should help. Plus be good at talking about your freelancing projects and revenue you made.  
  
 My cousin got into PWC after a year gap. They didn’t ask much about payslips.

Just want to get inputs from those who freelance along with being salaried. I am wondering how people do ITR filing when they’re directly receiving payment from their clients abroad (inward remittance) on their own name (no company created for offering ur service) as well as have their monthly salary ? As much as I’ve read you would be filing ITR-4 but then wouldn’t this reveal to ur current or next employer that u worked 2 places?
Really curious to know as it’s ITR filing time.

Wouldn’t ITR be a mess for salaried employee who also freelances?

What all should I know before getting into this?
Someone has approached me for part time work for them.

- should I and the person sign a contract? If yes, who prepares the contract and what should be it's contents?
- should any specific clauses be defined?
- should I take up upfront fees?
- how to handle them validating work is done or not?
- should I not keep it hourly? Should I define the fees based on the work done?

In future, If I get selected in any company and in background verification would I get reject?
because 
I don’t have any documentation of 1st company in my PF account, but I don't consider it as part of my work experience. Its just 5 months I was in that company. 

I broke the employment bond of that company amd joined another company as a fresher. 

That why I am afraid to switch the current company.

I have been unemployed since a year due to some personal problems, but right now interviewing. On my resume is it advisable to add my freelance work which I’ve done in the past year instead of the gap ? It was on and off freelancing for a friends company.

I wanted inputs on, if this is okay and also, how would a background check be done regarding this? Is contact with the client good enough for background verification.

So I have got full time job offer and they have asked the current CTC which I gave a rough estimate but also it's freelancing payments from different sources so how will company verify the current CTC if they want to and if they try to ask for proofs how can it be provided?

In my post, I mentioned that my relieving letter states the date as "Dec," as verbally communicated by my ex-employer. However, today when I requested the letter from HR, they went back on their words and they indicated it would show October to align with their records for audits which would otherwise create a discrepancy since my final settlement was in October.

Now, my resume states my experience until December, prompting questions during interviews about why I left in December. 
However, for background verification form that i had to urgently submit today, I listed my last working date as October because supporting docs will mention october only and i was out of time & options. 

1. Will this two-month discrepancy on my resume cause significant issues? Are the dates in resume and BGV form matched? If not, whats given more preference?

2. How do I explain the advance payment reflected in my payslip? If the new org comes to label it as severance pay, I lack evidence to prove otherwise, especially since my resignation was verbal.

3. Will my new manager come to know of the disparity between my resume and BGV data?

4. ⁠I need to provide last 3 months payslips and i told new HR I'm seeking payslips for November and December. Now, My ex-employer can't provide them as well since payment was earlier. How do I cover up and offer payslips to HR for Aug-Sep-Oct instead? How do I explain the Oct payslip discrepancy mentioned in point 3?

Update- ex-org screwed up BGV data

Hello, I started working as SDE at a regular tech firm a few months back. Prior to that I wanted to get into freelancing, even did a few projects.

In the offer letter it's clearly stated that "shouldn't have any other interest in business" and talking around looks like they probably don't want us to have any other sources of income.

I feel confident in few skills that I can more on side, (not greedy need more financial stability)

My Questions
[1] Freelance platforms (fiver, upwork, etc) ask for pan, is it okay if I give my friends/family pan ?
[2] Should I register for a LLP on their name, use that pan everywhere and run the business myself ?
[3] Is it good idea to run it under an alias ?


Any advice / insight / experience would be highly appreciated 🙏

Since I am from bca background they put me in bps (bpo).  Currently working in react project.
Now got selected for a product based company for 8lpa.
In 4.3 years I took 2 years leave without pay for my higher studies and returned back to same organisation.
The problem is I didn't inform this to new organisation.
They have initiated my bgv. Really afraid will they find this out and revoke the offer?
They asked me to submit my pf passbook .
Is it okay to submit my 6 month payslip as it also contains the pf details?

I have submitted a resume of previous employment after completing my education till now ( total of 6 years, In these for the first 3 years I don't have documents) which I have worked for HR before taking a technical interview and client round interview. 
I got selected for that role. But HR is asking now to submit the documents including the updated resume. 
So, while submitting with an updated resume to HR can I remove the first 3 years which I don't have documents from the resume now.
And provide only the remaining documents to them.
Can someone please suggest to me this how to proceed. Thanks!
