I work remotely as stated above in the title and curious to know how you guys who are also working remotely manage work and life. 

When we work in office setup it is define that once we are ik office we can focus on work and when we are out of office we can focus on family and other  stuffs. But in WFH setup it is quite complicated and sometimes I feel I'm missing the connect and enthusiasm to work as I've no one from my workplace to meet physically 1-1 on a coffee and discuss work, share knowledge etc.

It feels like working in silos when you meet people virtually.
We don't know the mood when we ask for call setup or the other person don't know if I'm in mood to take a call.

How do you guys manage all these.

I'm working from Home from past 8 years out of my 14 YOE. 
we don't have an ODC or seats allocated thus no option to goto office. 
During the initial days, I felt blessed about this WFH and lately it impacts my work life balance. 
I binge eating and binge watch tv shows when there's no priority work.

I feel I don't have any motivation to learn anything and also feel disconnected whenever I meet another techie. 

How do you all cope with WFH?

Now why everyone is talking about benefits of working from office?
I saw post from Sunil Shetty on linkedin.

My take is, when pandemic hit companies asked employees to WFH to keep wheel rolling.
Now we know WFH can give greater control over personal and professional life(at least for me) we don’t want to go back to office.

In my opinion corporate want us to work from office cause,

- they can control our time, 9hrs in ofc, you are getting paid for time not skills.
- they want to show who is the boss here.
- Learning is key reason for WFO, bullshit, we have a lot of learning portals and traffic time can be used to learn but it is never a intention.

What you guys think?

I work in remote mode full time, occasionally visit the office, once in 3 months. My office is located in a different city from where I live in.

The work I do is challenging and interesting, but I manage to complete my tasks by working for max 4-5 hours a day. Remaining time of the day, I get distracted, not with household duties but by doing research on random stuff. I want start a company, but I have no idea where to start. I consume a lot of information, yet most of the time I spend goes unproductive. By nature, I am very unorganized. 

Most of my friends are busy in their own world and I don’t want to disturb them seeking advice.

Any idea how I can get over this habit to make productive use of my time, while WFH?

I am software engineer with 2.5 yoe and have been working remotely from the start if my career but still i feel i haven’t cracked the code as i don’t feel happy any more with life in general mind you i like the kind work i do so happy with professional life . I’m a 2022 grad and I’m doing WFH since then. And I’ve few questions. Please enlighten me.

1. What do you guys do when you get bored during WFH?

2. How often do you go on a trip?

3. Don’t you feel, you are missing something because of WFH, like I feel a lot. I feel like I should shift to bangalore etc etc. Also, most of my friends are working in Bangalore. But let say not Bangalore but where should I go then??

4. Also, how do you network with people and make connections with them while doing WFH?

5. The only extra thing I do is going to the gym.

6. And last but not the least, jeevan me koi hai nhi 🤷🏻‍♂️

I have been wfh for than a year now, my parents would keep ordering me to do small household work even when I’m working. I have asked them not to do that as it distracts me, but they will not simply listen and even scold me and compare me with others that they help their parents 😅

I have thought about just going to a different city and wfh from there but my parents are also getting old so have to think about that also.
