B2C PM Skillset

I am currently working as a PM in B2B Space. But I want to develop PM Skillsets for B2C space as well.

Can someone please share what are most important skills/tools a B2C PM Should know. Do share relevant resources if possible!

Most imp skill set required for B2C that a B2B PM lacks:

  1. Data driven decision making
  2. User research

I don’t know why you find it hilarious. Having worked as both B2B and B2C PM, I certainly know that B2C PM is highly data intensive as compared to a B2B Model M

I’m a b2c pm

  • spend time with users, they f up a lot, all your assumptions are mostly wrong
  • good design taste
  • data heavy work (if not you then have a well trusted analyst)
  • speed of iteration (mvp-> hit goals-> next milestone), throw lot of things at wall, see what sticks
  • don’t ever make dark patterns might help with initial number boost, eventually users will hate you for it

B2C PMs should be very comfortable with

  • quick iterations and chaos, as product changes/experiments are much more frequent
  • ability to gather feedback very quickly and build on it
  • data crunching
  • prioritise north star of company (growth, retention, revenue) at different points in time vs ARR in case of b2b mostly
