What would be the best investment options for a Conservative spending style ? Assuming I'm 30 and have a package of 20 LPA. I prefer bulk investments where I don't have to look into the market conditions regularly to update my investments.

MF. And don't invest blindly. Choose a goal and start SIP accordingly. For eg. You're 30, your child will need around 2Cr for higher studies/abroad by the age of 50. So you need 2 cr after 20 years. That's a goal. You need 4-5 Cr for comfortable retirement at 60.
All these can be easily fulfilled by SIP. Also suggest you to buy gold (SGB) on dips.
Yes I've looked into SGBs, they look good to me. On the MF front, what is an average rate of interest that I can consider for all goal based calculations ? Also, while a value like 2cr is taken out, won't there be a large TDS on it ?

Let's consider a 20 year goal. For the first 15 years go for small and midcap equity with a mixture of gold in it. Then swiftly move towards the bluechip for 15-17. After that it should be completely liquid. 18-22% for 1st 15 years then 12% for 2 years and then 6-8% for 3 years.
