Best way to make transactions in abroad?

Hi Folks,

I will be travelling to the US in September end. I want some suggestions on how anyone who has been there makes their transactions. Do you use credit cards from your Indian banks, debit cards, or something like Niyo Global? To be honest, I have heard negative reviews of Niyo Global and how it has been shut down now. Can someone confirm this? Also, what could be the best way to make payments there? Thanks.

Take usd for personal expenses and shopping. Assumption that you are on official trip.

I take 3 cards and some cash for backup:

  1. Scapia

  2. FI Debit card

  3. Traditional forex card by a bank

First 2 are 0 forex and the third one is a backup option which just works even if it is a bit costly. Hard cash is anyway OG

Get a multi currency forex card. You will face no issues.

Don't rely on niyo global it can be hit or miss. Avoid prepaid multi currency forex cards.

the best way is what's easily available to you, assuming it'll be cash as one might not want to go the extra mile.

Hypothetical best would be a combination of debit card like indusind exclusive (0 forex surcharge) and credit card like hdfc infina (nett 1% rewards after deducting forex fees), use NFC payments charge in USD.
