Anybody appearing for cat 2023 , how is your preparations going on?

I am planning on preparing now for the CAT exam. Obviously I know I am late for the prep. Just want to know on a realistic basis is 99+ percentile achievable from here? Or for that I should Target CAT 2025?

Does ragging of such scale where the seniors time and again disrespect the juniors and humiliate them really happens at top B-Schools( i m talking about IIM A,B,C,L,K,I, FMS, XLRI etc) l.

I am from one of an old IIT and haven't faced any ragging or harrasment from seniors over here apart from the freshers party where the seniors themselves told that if you are not comfortable then you can leave. Not one incident after that. Instead it has been a total opposite scenario and the seniors are too helpful here in a variety of ways. I have friends in IIT Bombay, Kanpur and Delhi and they too told me the same thing.

I was very surprised and astonished when I found out that kids age 18 years old aren't engaged in ragging at IITs but adults age 23 years+ doing their MBAs are doing the same at IIMs.

PS: I plan to pursue an MBA from an IIM in the future but such incidents are a big turn off for me hence I wanted to know the reality.

Hi everyone, I am an engineering student of IT (graduating in 2025) at a tier 2 college (a new iiit), and looking at the market conditions I have decided to pursue mba and have been preparing for CAT 2024 for the past 3 months along with placements preparation. 

Although I am pretty confident in my CAT preparation (I am getting decent marks in sectional and full length mocks), still anything can happen. And because of CAT preparation I also can't fully focus on my placement preparation (preparing for ML and data scientist roles). 

To do my best in any one of the two I will have to focus on that one thing so pretty soon I will have to choose one, what should I do? 
Even if I give my best for my placements I don't think I will end up with a job of more than 7-8lpa.(And this is best case)

All of it is very stressful, financially also my family isn't very well to do.

Help me decide.

12th - 88.2 science
Ug Btech - 72  IIT D
Obc
Work ex of four years in the software industry.

my main intention is to shift out from software industry and get into the business/strategy/IB roles, but I would only be inclined to make it to ABC, if thats possible

I am a 26F, 3yoe in advertising and marketing. I'm tired of being in agency side and serving the brand. I wanted to shift to brand side for that I'm planning to give CAT and get an MBA from IIMs. To be honest I feel super underconfident to give a try. I am disappointed with myself and throwing a lot of self hate for this attitude towards my preparation. Anyone who has cracked CAT could teach me how to overcome this would be highly appreciated. Talked to the son of my Dad's friend recently. Brilliant kid has a good GPA from IIIT-H + 2 research internships and 1 summer internship at good companies. He still can't find a "good" company to get into. 
(Side Note: "good" implies a high paying job relative to last couple of years)

Apparently, most of his friends in other colleges are in the same boat. Massive pay correction has happened.

The undergoing rationale is that companies hired Class of 2022 with no restraint because the demand was really strong during their placement season in 2021. This appears to be directly correlated with quantitative easing in the US and a low interest rate environment that was conducive to fundraising for several Series A+ startups.

By the time Class of 2022 entered the market, everything changed and they felt some short term change. However, Class of 2023 is having a much tougher time. They are shoved into the job market in a time where demand is low and they are competing with kids who graduated last year. 

Ongoing consensus appears to be that a huge chunk of their batchmates are going to get their Masters abroad. Their hope is that by the time they graduate out of grad school, the economy will pick up and demand will be strong while they're poised to take advantage of that with bump up credentials.

Unfortunately, this also implies that many of them will end up in the CPT-OPT-H1B-Green Card hell.

This is really a tough spot to be in.

Hi all, I got an admission call from IIM Bodhgaya. I would like to try again next year for better IIMs but my family is scared to lose this chance to join an IIM. Since Bodhgaya is one of the newest IIMs, is it worth it to join or better to try again next year?

Just got to know recently that a tier 1 mba college didn’t conduct interviews as part of their admission process during covid. Just CAT scores sufficed. 

In addition to this, post admission, these batches didn’t have proctored exams, they could collaborate and solve the exams together and then submit their answers online. 

Please do reply if this was very common during Covid across other colleges and any other such crazy lapses across colleges.

Dark secrets about premier colleges

In another college, there is no resume vetting and people can and do add a lot of BS "achievements". 
 This is also the college with the largest intake and almost every second person has something like a director's merit list or an honors' list or they are a 'torchbearer'.
