CBAP vs PMP

Is Business Analyst loosing its lustre in Big 4?? Apart from getting to work for different type of companies as Consultants, the fear of project not getting extended/renewed is legit. Drop in your thoughts!

I’m currently working at a B2B SaaS company as a PM. I have a great interest in analytics but not getting enough exposure here and my role has just got so redundant and more like project manager. It’s been really difficult in the last couple of months as growth seem to have stopped and I am really scared about my career. Experience - 1 Year Current Comp - ~17LPA fixed with some Esops Should I consider switching to analytics ( I am confident about my skills which will get me something in analytics ) given my current situation or try to get another good role in PM to which the market has been really cruel lately. Need some advice!!

Hello Everyone, Post my MBA, I have joined Wipro as a Business Analyst. Its been almost an year with Wipro & have prior work experience of 3 years in non IT field. Currently looking to upskill myself. What certifications would you recommend in BA/Consultant/Project management role? Also,as I do not come from an IT background, would you recommend taking any tehnical certifications/courses for a better switch later?

I have 5+ years of total experience - 3+ years of BA (business analyst) + Sr BA experience and a year of Product Manager 2 experience. Then I started my own venture. I'm thinking about switching back to the product manager role as my firm is not working as per the expectations and product development & growth marketing is something I genuinely enjoy working on. I need some advice from you all - how can I justify my 'employment gap'? What should I tell (or rather hide) about start-up failure? What should be my approach while applying for PM openings? Where should I start? I have graduated from an IIT, how can I leverage that? I know some of these questions would sound noobish, but I really don't have much experience in switching careers. Your help is appreciated 🙂.

Hi All, I need advice from experienced folks here. I joined a recruitment firm working in blue collar around 6 months back as a Product Manager. Around 4 months into the system, I was tasked to build the business intelligence system (it has been ongoing). My manager asked me to whether I want to continue in data and build core skills in data analytics based on my interest and what plans for career. I am a little confused here since I haven’t tried real Product per se and although I enjoy working with data I am not sure whether to build career as a BA and if I can build data competency working as a PM. I need to get back to them by next Tuesday. What are your thoughts here? Please be brutally honest, will appreciate pros and cons Thank You!

Someone I know is pursuing MBA at XLRI, background computer science engineer and a background in sales (~3 years). What steps would you recommend to get into Product Management roles after he completes MBA?

Its been 8 months since I have joined my current company. I have previously worked in a B2C PM role. My current company is a data product company and provides services to US companies to send digital and physical notifications to end users. My previous role was much more structured for PM than here. First of all, as business is US based, PM role is more of an order taker. Further, as engineers are experienced, they are not as cooperative as my previous org. Hence, I am in typical PM struggle, responsible for nothing but accountable for everything. Should I build my hard skills like learning sql/analytics or should I work on soft skills like influencing stakeholders etc. I have 7 years of experience in program management role and pure 2 years of PM experience.
