I paid 4.8L Tax and my CA somehow managed to get back 30k refund. Wanted to know if people here in similar bracket or higher .. Have managed get higher refund.
I chose old slab coz the greytHR portal said I’ll save more in that.
I don’t have a housing loan,
I have shown HRA , insurance and mutual funds

Last year(23-24 financial year) Total Tax deduction was 60k. My total investment in 80C(PPF and ELSS) 48500 and in 80D -16000. So how much return I can expect after filing tax.

I have selected old tax regime and I have declared around 1.80 Lacs of investment. Now my tax is not getting deducted in monthly salary but from the declaration I am not actually doing any investment. How should I resolve this issue.

I just started my first full time job and will be filing ITR for 1st time next year, no one in my family has been in high tax slab previously so not much experience from there :D

Some questions:

- Almost 50% of my base pay is getting used in paying EMIs (Mostly mortgage) of my family, nothing is on my name, all on father's name, is there a way to claim this in deduction ?

- We have our own house in a tier 3 city and I'm getting 30k/month as HRA, what will be safe HRA amount to claim ?

- Can we claim any other expenses in deduction ? Leave travel allowance seems useless to me as I'm working remotely.

- Which tax regime do you prefer ? New or old ?

I could have done investments to save taxes but nothing is left after all the expenses and nothing on my name 😛

Advice needed for filing tax

One of my uncles (50 years old) has to pay Rs 37K tax every year, he is the sole earner in his family, he is a very simple and honest middle class man trying to provide for his family, is there any way that he can save that tax? They live paycheck to paycheck, As the tax amount is a lot for him, pls help with what can be done? I’ve seen people who earn hell lot more paying 0 taxes, pls help

I recently bought a home by selling some mutual funds + bank loan. 

I still have some mutual funds left and I was wondering if I could reduce my tax liability on capital gains by selling and re buying mutual funds.

Those who are earning more than 50lpa base how much tax do you end up paying? 😶‍🌫️

Hi, I wanted to take community's advice on tax saving suggestions to opt for and plan my investments. This is what I have:

CTC: 21L ( 19L Fixed , 2L variable pay  in CTC )

80C is covered, Currently I have 50L home loans. & Staying in rented house with 16k rent, Paying around 20k+ TDS. Where can I save? 

Plan me with total take home per month & tax regime to opt ?

so I've taken an education loan worth 20 Lakhs, 10% p.a. interest

will graduate next year (24) and wanted to know how do i maximize my tax savings due to my ed loan
