Cogoport got a $50mil funding last year. It’s surprising how a company with so much investment doesn’t really care about its brand value. I read the comments on the original post, and there are so many folks hired there who faced the same issue.

Hi Folks,
I applied for L5 MLE at Google Banglore and completed my 3 Coding, 1 ML System Design and Googleyness & Leadership interview before mid-May.
The recruiter communicated the feedback for each round as "GOOD", not revealing the Lean/Strong-Hire counts even after being asked, saying those are for internal only.

For further process, the recruiter communicated that Team Matching could take time as the current openings already have candidates mapped for Team Matching.

I haven't been scheduled for even 1 Team Matching call.
And, on follow-ups, I get the answers "No new updates" or "Nothing so far".

Is this expected, given BLIND is filled with posts reflecting Google is on a hiring spree in Banglore?

Or is this a soft reject?

Or, to a stretch, the hiring season at Google India is over with no new openings? A hiring freeze.

So I have been interning at Accolite Digital as an Swe. I got the opportunity via oncampus drive. They offered a 6 month internship+ FTE(8 lpa CTC and 3 lpa as retention bonus). After 4 months of internship they randomly terminated internships of 10 interns stating their performance was inadequate which was complete bullshit as I knew those interns worked really hard. Later the HR told us that they have reduced the retention bonus from 3 lpa to 2 lpa without having any discussion with us. After 6 months of internship they again forced around 20-30 interns to hand over their resignation as they have found better opportunity but the reality was that they didn't have projects to allot to them and didn't want to display it as layoffs. After all this shitholery they gave the rest of us an extension of 2 months till 15th of October and today they told us that they have further extended our internship till December. During this period of time I worked my ass off for this shit organisation and worked late at night to connect with the client. They only paid us 20k as an internship stipend and expected us to be present at the office all 5 days a week. The worst thing is that I initially had 5 job offers in hand and I had to reject them all to accept this one. They also have 1 year of bond which they won't wave off. I am literally shattered and actively looking for better job opportunities as a SWE fresher with 8 months of internship experience. I would beg the community to please like this post as much as they can so that someone who is actively hiring who could see this. Also if any of u guys have any openings at ur firm please do consider me!!

Cogoport laid off around 150 people a few days ago, just before welcoming a new batch of around 100 fresh grads. Employees were told to resign, if someone denied they were terminated.

Hearing that they have only 5 months runway left. They haven't paid 1yr retention bonus for many employees, as well as extend probation period from 3 months to 7-9 months because they pay Joining Bonus on completion of probation.

They also have a performance management policy where if you don't reach your monthly targets, a certain percentage of your monthly salary will be deducted.

2 days back cracked the customer support role for the Flipkart CMB process at tech Mahindra.
But the salary they offered me was just 14500 and my recent salary in hand was 18000.

But the HR didn't agree and neither provided me with the cab service offer. So my conveyance cost calculation was 3000 -4000 from my home to the office in a month.

Lol, and that hit me very hard. I told the HR about it and she was not willing to do anything about it.

Got an offer from Tech Mahindra.

A few people who are in advanced stages of the process and/or have offers from slice have been asking me whether it's a good idea to join.

My answer has always been consistent and I'm posting this so that people have more clarity.

Good folks are leaving in droves which is why they are trying to fill in some roles fast.

The company doesn't have a proper CTO, with engineering being managed by two people, one the head of analytics and data science being the 'people mananger' who is highly under-qualified for the job, and the second a toxic and borderline abusive character who is the 'chief architect'.

On top of that, there are some AHs from Bizops who'll do everything to blame you if things go wrong and steal credit if things are good, making your day worse rest of the time.

The critical Glassdoor reviews are totally true, and present points in an elaborate manner, while the few positive ones are clearly planted with 1-2 lines written for each.
Plus the company is suppressing many reviews with the help of community guidelines.

Your package might have a generous ESOP component, but it is bloated and the company is looking to raise the next round at a highly diminished valuation.

There are more things in life than a few lakhs of extra base pay, for your long term well being.

I'm speaking about it openly since I left the org for a better opportunity recently and I don't want people to suffer more.

I recently got an offer from Dunzo so I resigned from my current company and was serving my notice period. 3 weeks after resigning , Dunzo called and rescinded the offer.

 Also for safety @Coulson595 - ask existing company if you can be retained. You'll be stuck for 6 months minimum and thoda ijaat jayega, but papi pet et al. If they don't agree, get on the immediate joiner gravy train asap.

I myself joined there and worked for a while and one Monday i got a text from hr that i should come to the office today. I was sick the day before but he didn't pay any heed when i told him. I went and they forced me to resign on the same day and didn't even let me say my goodbye to my friends. FYI: I just got appreciation for finding the most number of release blockers by the team lead on the last Friday before firing.

They have a non-disclosure on the release letter i couldn't even tell people what happened so sharing here.

I had a very positive interview experience with one of the firms. I had cleared 3 rounds and my final round was a culture round with HR head and few colleagues from other departments. 

We had a very fruitful and fun conversation as well throughout the call.

But after that it's been 3 weeks and they haven't contacted me or even sent a rejection mail. Not sure how to go about this, I have sent the HR a mail too to check on any updates. Any advice on how should I proceed?

This is a personal win post.

I'm a '23 grad from top IIT but from non circuital branch. I did my summer internship in a payments MNC as a Quality Engineer and received PPO, but I rejected it since I didn't want to continue in testing. This was when recession was just starting. The money was decent in PPO, but I felt I could get more in a dev role in placements.

When placements came, I interviewed with few big companies, but unfortunately got rejected at some stage. Finally I got placed at Cogoport (yes that same cursed company), with a higher CTC but same base. I was initially happy with it, but as I talked with seniors I came to know about the horrors there, and a month before my joining I decided to take the jump and didn't join. My parents weren't supportive of the decision and I had to fight with them.

I was trying offcampus for a couple of months with a very specific strategy, I got good response but none of them converted to an offer. I finally joined a seed stage startup through my friend as an intern for 3 months. I struggled a lot initially but eventually put in the efforts and learnt and contributed well. The work, culture and people are great here.

Two months after I joined the startup, I got to know that almost half of the new joiners were laid off from Cogoport. And today is my first official day as a full time employee at the same startup I joined as an intern. The base is also the same as the other 2 offers, although CTC decreased but I have immense learning and responsibilities here and I'm sure I'll grow faster than my counterparts in big companies.
