These layoffs are less about removing employees and more about market salary correction. After math of the pandemic saw great rise in salary/experience ratio. Now that many are ready to work even lesser, they are laying off some high expense positions and hire new employees with lesser salaries.

True, even I noticed this, the high paid are the ones who are laid off, not just here at Cisco but even in other companies.

Agree with this. If employees have been told to settle on less salary than company's reputation would be at stake. Probably that's why they are considering laying off extra fat
