Consultancy Moonlighting

I left a startup due to financial difficulties within the organization. Salaries were delayed for 3 months, however, the team and my previous employers have been very good to me throughout my time there, and it was solely due to the circumstances that I had to part ways. Now, the CEO has reached out to me, asking me to join as a part-time consultant on a case-by-case basis to help them resolve their issues, while I continue with my new job. This opportunity could provide me with additional income, but I have concerns about whether they will pay me for my consultations. Should I take the opportunity? How much should I ask for? I'm working full time in a company, I'm also moonlighting in another startup, but not sure how much I should invoice them. My payment is based on story or task based. Can anyone guide?

I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company." Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here? What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards. Thank you for your help!!

3 years post-MBA exp. Currently at INR 35+ LPA. Offer in impact consulting at INR 23 LPA. Should I take it? Joining in Jan'24. Reason for switch - can't tolerate my toxic manager anymore. Have already put down my papers. Line of thought: 1. Take it - Something is better than nothing. At least paisa aate rahega. 2. Wait - Once I go at a lower package, difficult to demand a hike on my current one. 3. Take it, don't mention it - Companies will negotiate hard to lowball me if they know I am not working (gets worse if the LWD of my current company and the time am applying have a huge gap). Money matters to me. But have been introspecting a lot. Will appreciate realistic input from the community.

Hi devs , I recently cleared turing tests and coding rounds and yesterday I had a non technical interview . The discussion went pretty good but the person who interviewed told that min yoe for turning dev is 3 years ...where as I had 2 years 4 months exp ...when the pay discussion came , he said he can only put $10 per hour as my yoe doesn't match with criteria of turing..which comes down to 1760$ per month. Currently my company pays me 14 lpa as base .Is it viable to consider the turing job ?

I am a UI developer with all the UI skills + UX expertise as well. Leading a small team at an IB in India. I get 27LPA + 5L bonus. Is this avg, underpaid or good?

Hi Viners, My elder brother who used to work in strategy got laid off in July. He had a fixed pay of 35 and total CTC of 42. ( 2 lakh annual esops, 5 lakh variable). He has a pretty good runway and not worried about the finances since currently at home and no rent/ other metro city expenses. He has been working as an external consultant since December and making 3 lakh per month as fees. Yesterday he received an full time offer from a startup with Fixed pay 32, 1 lakh retention, 1 lakh performance bonus and 4 lakh annual esops at the last valuation. The startup is yet to raise series B but the role he is getting is a strategy and ops planning role along with PnL responsibility in 3-6 months. HR told him that the salary would get revised once they recieve series B but he knows that stuff is usually just lip service. Glassdoor reviews also show that the workload will be high and might have to work on public holidays as well. Would you advice to take this?

I've resigned and our co-founder gave me an offer, where I'll be officially released but I have to work after office hours & will get paid accordingly (for temporary period) I'm sorta inclined towards the offer, I'll get some extra money + the work load isn't much, I can do it along with my day job. Now what are the factors I should take care of while finalizing this decision? How to make sure my bgc remains clean or something? How the payment will happen? Ofc they will propose me something, but I wanna be prepared from my side as well. Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any input, about anything I've written or about moonlighting in general. PS: I'm also okay declining the offer, except the fact the company will suffer, which I don't want to (as we are very small team), and I genuinely want it to be successful.
