Contract Position offered. Should I accept?

Company asked for a meeting today to let me know they want to put me on a contractual role. I see some potential projects that I can help with. I'm thinking of making a proposal tomorrow about how I can help for the next 3 months on a full-time role but I think they've already made up their minds. Should I accept the contract or quit and search for something better. I need the cash cause I've got a 3 year old but it seems a bit of an ego hurt that they can throw me around like that.

I am a PM intern at a compliance industry startup. Already interned for 3 months and 3 are still left. I will be getting a FTE offer to join from 1st May. Should I join it or look out for APM opportunities? If I look out for new opportunities, then what sector of Startups should I search for. So that I can at least go through these layoffs without being jobless.

I got an offer from a big international bank in Mumbai. The project is in data analysis/engineering, which is something I have not worked in earlier. Another caveat is that I will be on a staffing company’s payroll and not on the bank’s. I am apprehensive about the 3rd party payroll thing. Is that something to worry about?

I've been working as a React developer for almost 3 years (2 years, 9 months) plus had a 3-month internship. I'm looking to make a career move to a company that offers better mentorship and growth opportunities, but my current job requires a 3-month notice period before leaving. I'm struggling with a few aspects of navigating this job change given the long notice period: 1) Finding Companies Open to Waiting How do I identify companies that would be willing to wait the full 3 months for me to start after giving notice? When and how should I bring up the notice period requirements during the application/interview process? 2) Getting Referrals My professional network is somewhat limited. What are the best ways to try securing internal referrals to companies I'm interested in, which could help increase flexibility around waiting for my start date? 3) Preparing for Interviews Besides the standard technical preparation, what is the best way to practice for and respond to questions about my reasons for leaving my current role after such a long tenure? How can I reassure them I'm committed despite the extended notice period? 4) Evaluating Offers If a company is unwilling to wait the full 3 months, is it worth trying to negotiate a shorter notice period or looking at temporary/contracting roles until I can start full-time? How do I evaluate whether the role is worth that hassle? I want to be as prepared as possible for this transition, so any advice or suggestions from folks who have gone through a job change with a long notice period would be greatly appreciated! Let me know what you think or if you have any other tips.

I'm a lead engineer at a small-mid Indian Saas company. Been at the company for more than 6 years (total yoe 8+) and used to like the company and culture, alway top performer. Had been managing my team really well, mentoring them.. juggling multiple projects, reducing tech debt, improving developer experience.. and I enjoyed it. Now the company is trying to transition my role to more of a technical product manager where I have to think about how to improve the product, new features, take customer feedback, understand business analytics, usage, adoption, iteratively improve and deliver value. I'm not sure if I'm ready for this role. I hate this MBA shizz. What should I do? Try to like this, work on it and ace it? or let my management know that this is not what I signed up for.. I feel low at work because I'm not able to meet my expectations (let alone my manager's)

I have a job offer as a SDE 1 Frontend role at a Saas startup. I will be 25 in May and have 1.5 yoe and the offer is 17LPA. They have a team of 7 engineers. They have over 1m+ downloads on Play Store but very very small number of paid customers, so negligible revenue. They took funding 1.5m $ last year. I'll get the opportunity to kind of own the new product that we will be building. The job location is Bengaluru. I feel growth opportunity will be there as I'll be one of the few frontend developers but I feel very overwhelmed with the responsibility as I don't have much experience and I fell I'll be incapable of doing it. Also is it worth joining such a risky startup and shift to Bengaluru? I also have to work as a customer support person half day in a week because it's a small startup so you have to play every role. Please help!!! Because eventually I want to join a bigger company which is well known and reputed because I want to get married and reputation of the company matters a lot in my community and all the knowledge I'll gain working at this small startup would be of no use as for interview prep at reputed companies you need to do DSA LLD HLD for which I believe I'll need around 1+ year just to prep and I feel I won't get time working at this small company due to the workload as the product is not yet built.

I'm wondering if there are actually any freelance or part-time opportunities for product managers. I have only seen PMs work in full-time positions. Is PM by design a full time function? Fellow PMs do share your 2 cents on this! 🙌

How's the current job market like according to you guys? More specifically in Bangalore. I recently got an offer from an upcoming digital commerce player. They're giving a 35% pay hike and the role is decent. I don't love it , I don't hate it either. My only issue is it's based out of Delhi, a city I'm not a big fan of. To give more context I've been born and raised in Delhi but I've been living away from home for 8 years now. It's a city thats familiar but comes with its down baggage. I find the people too aggressive and don't have much of a circle left there. Got laid off from the Bangalore startup I was working at some 3 months back. I have a decent runway but frankly it's not making too much sense to keep paying rent in Bangalore anymore. I keep oscillating between taking this offer and letting it go. Thoughts?

I am reading very often that the craze around product management is too much and this career is not worth the hype. Adding on to that it has huge supply of PMs and many of PMs are underpaid. Is it true?
