They are supposed to be the breezy, well ventilated beach walk/summer wear. Wearing socks defeats the purpose and experience.

That's what I thought. wore them to beach, water sand plastic made the worst combination

They dry/shake off super fast. 
  
 On a side note - no footwear is more comfortable and breathable in Indian hot climate. It has replaced Flip flops and sandas for me.

Just crocs. The ones that are closed from side. Works like charm in sand and water. Travelled Goa wearing them.

Crocs get very hot and sweaty in humid weather, plus sweat + plastic + friction (by walking) is the worst
