Data Engineering Transition

Is there anyone out there who was working in completely different domain such as some support project with 2.5+years of experience and with no skills similar to Data Engineering and who still managed to transition to Data Engineering. Looking for some guidance. Thanks in advance

Hi Everyone, I have 5 ys experience working in Database support with having knowledge in SQL, Scripting and python. I want to switch my role to a Data Engineering job as my current role is not having enough job opportunities outside. I am planning to learn tools on Data Engineering. Like the Data Frameworks: Airflow,SSIS,Azure Factory And Dataworks like Snowflake,Databricks,Postgres I need some guidance on which tool to start learning and if I plan to learn these tools for the next 6 months. Is it possible to crack the interviews....this is my 1st switch to a new company. Can anyone pls suggest which framework, Dataworks tool i need to start and has high possibility for getting switch to new company. If possible can you pls share the learning path 🙏🙏🙏. Thanks in advance.

I need a bit guidance for how to prepare so that I can switch. There are lots of topics in DE and I'm not sure on which topics should I focus on more.

I've been an Oracle Database Administrator handling databases and exadata, data guard, performance tuning (not so great at it), little bit of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as well and typical DBA tasks including tablespace reorganization, migrations, etc. for the last 3 years. Now I'm thinking about transitioning into a Data Engineer/Data Analyst roles as it seems it is having a more lucrative future ahead. I'm good at doing DBA things but I'm doubtful about this considering the future scope of this as there isn't much a DBA has to do in databases as most of the work is handled by Database itself but I have an interest in it and getting calls from other companies as well for the same role. Is DBA a really good career option considering the future and the compensation? Or exploring or gaining skills in data engineering/analyst has more benefit? Also, what would be the best among Data Engineer/Data Analyst/AI,ML Engineer?

I have been working as a SAP ABAP consultant (as primary domain) but I do handle the Data Engineering/Integration activities in my project(from 3 years on n off). And now I feel like I'm becoming Jack of all and king of none. Data engineering is interesting and I'm getting inclined towards it. Could anyone please guide me through, how shall I change my domain and what all do we expect in interviews? N how the market and opportunities outside? Thank you in advance🙏🏼

I am a Data Engineer working from 2+ years in a small company. What things should I consider while switching. I work on Azure, Python, Snowflake,SQL ,PL-SQL,T-SQL. Also not sure but getting too many rejection mails from easy apply. What should i do ? Anyone DE ehi recently switched please share your experience Below

Can you suggest me few key areas, tools and technology i should focus on.? Additionally, I am working on Azure cloud only.
