Hey everyone, happy to answer any questions around Data Science/ML/AI and making a career within it A brief about me, I work currently as a Sr. ML Engineer at an Indian unicorn startup I graduated 5+ years ago and have since worked as a Data Scientist / ML Engineer at an ecommerce company and social media company. My designations have changed based on the industry requirements and work too changed based on that. Would love to take questions on what it means to be an ML Engineer, my early learnings from a career in data science, and thoughts on AI. Look forward to all questions :)

I came across a company’s interview process. Here’s my experience. They are hiring for Lead Data Scientist. As I asked the process they mentioned have a 5 step process. 1. DSA and Data Science Fundamentals 2. System Design 3. Data Science & LLM Round 4. Managerial Round 5. HR round Why is DSA required for this role? Also what kind of questions you came across? And what is your experience? Note: Don’t ask for Company Name

Hi Guys, I am attending an interview process for Lead Data Science. I want to know the previous experiences with to improvise my interview experience. The company having 5 rounds and each round is an elimination (the scary part). First round is DSA and Data Science fundamental. Where I have learnt DSA 5years ago and now I’m out of practice. For Data Science it might be more like ML (I assume). Second round is System Design, which will be more on designing system and scalability Third round is more off Technical And Managerial around. 4th round is managerial round 5th round is HR discussion I want to know where to prepare for all the rounds and what’s the efficient way to prepare for it.

Please share the interview experience in the format below... 1. What is the company and how much experience you have prior to this interview? 2. What are the different types of rounds you have faced? 3.How do you got to know about this oppourtunity? 4. What are the topics they have interviewed on? 5. Share the questions if you remember or atleast share the questions which you feel difficult/confused/tricky etc...., 6. How did you negotiated the salary and what is the CTC earlier and what is the new CTC? 7. Feel free to share whatever you want to tell. This is very helpful for the people who wants to take a shift from the current company. It helps people to know how interviews are conducted to the experienced people and helps to get prepared. I would like to seek your advice on decision which I’m going to make based on your opinion. I’m having 13+ years of experience in data field. Last 4-5 years I’m working has Big Data Engineer and now I would like to learn data science/ML/AL and switch my career into DS. So, here I have couple of questions- 1. Is it right choice to do at the experience level ? 2. What’s best institute or tutor for DS for online learning Thanks.!

Hey everybody! I am currently preparing for senior data engineer interviews. I have 2.7 YOE. I have experience working with Data pipelines, AWS S3, Python, Spark, Scala, Hive, Hadoop, Kafka. Any suggestions on how to prepare and what should be the focus? Thank you in advance!

I will be using a scale of 10 for better quantification. Python : 7/10 SQL: 7/10 PowerBI: 9/10 ML(Pandas): 6/10 PLSQL: 6/10 Advanced Excel: 8/10 Azure Databricks + DataFactory : Started learning Apache Spark: Started learning Communication skills: 9/10 Prior Work Ex: 1.8yrs as a PLSQL developer (started off as a fresher) + one SAP internship of 4months + one Data analyst internship of 1 month Aspiration : Data Engineering Role 1. Is the above techstack enough to get me a good data engineering role? Will I be able to clear the technical rounds at companies like accenture, IBM etc with this profile? I have heard the barrier to entry for data engineering is higher than that of data analyst. 2. Do I need to learn DSA? 3. What salary range do I fall in with this profile? I seek your honest answer. I feel lost. Also, should I focus more on improving my cloud skills or shall I be more competent with my python skills? Which one would pay me off in a better sense financially? I certainly can not focus on all the tools at once.

How to land internships or entry level roles in DS/DA or even ML? I have a good number of projects in my resume. But it's so hard to get a response from recruiters. How to increase my chances of putting my foot in the door for interviews? Also let me know any openings related to the above roles in startups (Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad preferred).
